Perfect for almost any artist!
I have been looking for years for a set of granite pencils that were easy to blend, had more than 4 shades, and didn't break when sharpening. All the ones I found costed a fortune for fewer pencils than these. They're perfect! I was showing my art teacher them and a kid was so confused about why I had ten different pencils to draw with! I tried showing him how it worked, but he was still confused at the end of it all. If you -or your artist- knows how to use the different varients of the pencils, I think they are perfect! I would make sure that they know how to use them though, for things like this can seem confusing to a new artist.

Pencils come ready to use!!
The pencils came already sharpened and ready to use. When I got them they weren't broken at all. I was able to get them and use them as soon as I got them. These are great for beginners or intermediate. The price is great and I have nothing bad to say.
