I bought this item to check out my propane tanks. We swap out tanks frequently. It works great. Over the years every now and then I thought I caught a whiff of natural gas when I passed through my garage. It was a little smell so I questioned if it was coming from somewhere else. The smell was intermittent , I very rarely noticed it. Since I had purchased this already I started checking out the hot water tank and sure enough it detected a tiny leak of gas. That was scary. I fixed it and brought another tester for my son when he bought his house.

Product actually works. I was doubtful given the low price but this actually works. I used it on a new construction LP line and an existing line from a propane tank. Picked up the low volume gas leak at a valve on the tank and found low leaks with a new gas line we were constructing.

Test for gas leaks with ease
For this price range you cannot go wrong. I installed my new gas range and wanted to make sure there were no leaks. This did the job fast and easy. I tested it with a gas burner and it alerted immediately so I know it works.
