Encores for Choirs 1: Vocal score (Lighter Choral Repertoire)

Encores, by definition, should be snappy, attractive pieces that don't require too much rehearsal. Most of these pieces are (in my opinion) over-elaborate, often unnecessarily so

The selection of songs is excellent, with lots of variety to suit many occasions.However the layout makes the music unnecessarily difficult to sight read, especially the tenor line. The alto & soprano lines are doubled up and the tenor line switches back & forth between the treble & bass clefs! The latter is not only irritating but means for many amateur tenors the songs take much longer to learn accurately & with much greater difficulty.Presumably the layout is in the interests of space saving, but if so in my opinion as well as fellow tenors, this is at too great a cost. Please stick to the treble clef for the tenor line!

Good condition, not many pencil notes, thus eminently usable.

Choir rehearsal and concert

A wide selection of pieces arranged with a sense of humour. Perfect for SATB groups. Not for total beginners, but great for intermediate groups who can read music and are happy to sing with complex harmonies.

Enjoyable and fun pieces in this book. Not too difficult either.Need to learn a few more pieces to get the full benefit of it.
