8 ounce is hard to find, works well, sturdy
Works as it should. Feels sturdy. I anticipate several years of use out of this before the hinge starts to get iffy.I use this for portioning ground raw food for pets.I will be buying a couple more so that packaging can happen more quickly..

Scoop # not actually on item
I haven’t used yet, so I can’t review how well it works, but I was disappointed to see that the number of the scoop does not appear anywhere on the actual scoop as it does in the photo. Very disappointing as I have numerous scoops, and they are only identifiable by the number etched on them.

Perfect for mashed potatoes
I purchased this for a Thanksgiving banquet and used it to serve mashed potatoes. It was nice to keep the serving sizes. Accurate since we were serving 400 people. The scoop seems to be a good quality and is easy to clean.

Junk
I bought this scoop for my bakery. It was easier (or so I thought) to get a 6 ounce scoop versus weighing out the dough. The inside metal piece of the scoop bent at the first use. The thumb trigger also bent. I bought two, the first one ended up in the trash and the second isn’t far behind. Save your money. This scoop sucks.

Novelty, flimsy
Good novelty idea. Practically speaking half the ice cream comes out of the carton with each scoop, which can be good or bad depending on your goals. Quality wise , the little half moon scoop release came off before we even used the scoop!
