Hip Cushion with Navy Rip-Stop Ties Wheelchair, Removable Cover, 4-Inch

I bought this cushion to use during my recovery from total hip replacement. It is an ideal cushion for that purpose. The size is perfect; sits easily on my upholstered furniture, and the foam is sturdy enough to give the elevation required (knee below hip while sitting). The foam does not compress very much, thus making sure to keep me sitting high in the chair. Yet the cushion is comfortable enough to sit on for an hour without discomfort. The cushion is easily movable between chairs, and has a strap to keep it in place. (I don't need that strap, but it's there if it is needed.) The cover is easily washable. The cushion itself is sturdy enough to last throughout my recovery period. I am very pleased with this cushion and would purchase it again if I need to. I considered purchasing the 6" high cushion but thought that might be a bit too high; this 4" high fusion is exactly what I needed.

I used this to put under a pillow, in the passenger seat of my car, for my dog. She has a safety-tested harness and seat belt attachment, but she is little and she couldn't see out of the window at all. So I bought this, to put under the pillow. It even straps around the back of the car seat so it doesn't move around. Perfect for my use. It is very high quality. The booster seats out there are garbage and very expensive to boot. This worked well for my use. It has pretty dense foam.

I bought this pillow for my husband as he recovered from hip replacement surgery. Since he is tall we were informed that he would need some sort of cushion for elevation when sitting in a chair so he didn't break the 90 degree angle rule. His physical therapist told us about this pillow and is very useful for his recovery. It is the recommended height of 4 inches, it's portable and the strap in invaluable because the pillow's covering is slippery and doesn't stay well-anchored when trying to sit down. This is a major design flaw. Knowing what this product is used for, It's inconceivable that the manufacturer didn't think this could be a safety issue. Thanks to the reviews on Amazon, I now have a makeshift cover for it. Not pretty but practical.

I'm sitting on it right now, as a matter of fact. I love that I can hang this on my shoulder and take it with me wherever I go. I'm 4 weeks past hip replacement surgery and because of this pad, I've been able to return to work, dine out in a restaurant, and see a movie -- all without breaking the 90-degree angle precaution.The strap allows me to also tighten in on the chair so it won't slip. It's comfortable enough yet firm, to give me the support I've needed.

I used this after my hip replacement surgery. The covering is durable, but awfully slippery. I covered it with a t-shirt to cut down on the sliding. I mostly used it in my car to keep my hip from passing that taboo 90 degree angle. It's a little difficult to drive sitting that high up in my seat, but it allowed me to get around when I was going stir-crazy during recovery. It arrived in an incorrectly marked box. The box was for a smaller cushion. It was so tightly packed that I had to rip open the box to get it out, which I hated to do in case I wanted to return it. The cushion had a rip in it, but it was a straight cut, so I mended it with packing tape. Once I covered the item with a t-shirt, the rip was a moot point.

The cushion worked well for me. I found that it was initially stiff but then slowly conformed based on weight and size. There was no jarring reconstruction of the pillow initially after sitting down. The slowness together with firmness helped me to not violate any position rules with my new hip. Great product!

I find that I can't use this pillow. The fabric covering it is an unpleasant and very slippery fabric that feels like plastic. So I just slide off of it. Wish I had paid more and bought one that is usable.

I purchased this cushion in hopes it would offer the additional inches I needed to sit regally in my living room looked after by familial hand maidens while recovering from a hip replacement. I tried the cushion under my regular seat cushion, on top of it, on top with another pillow on top of it...and inevitably my right side (with the new hip bling) hurt soon after sitting and I couldn't find a position that was more than marginally comfortable. It was also too wide/long to be useful on top of a dining table chair. True to the product description, it does add 4" and is firm, defined as slightly softer than bleachers at a baseball game.One contributing factor to my discomfort, was that the cushion was a couple of inches smaller than the dimensions of my chair - I optimistically thought tucking pillows/towels around would compensate for the difference. I'd recommend ensuring any cushion you purchase fits very closely to the dimensions of your planned seating area. Buying a cushion a little too big and cutting it to fit the intended chair dimensions could be a good way to go as well.Sadly, family members, although attentive, failed to fully embrace the hand maiden expectation, so that part of the fantasy didn't turn out quite as planned either

Good product, only problem the outer cover although waterproof is too slippery. It would be better with an ordinary cover in order that it could be used without the incontinence cover as my wife does not need that one, she just needs the extra height but keeps slipping off it.

Very comfortable.

I ordered this and one other cushion for half the price...the cheaper one is superior.
