Can't recommend this. I may be wrong, but I don't believe that English is the author's first language. There were a lot of mistakes in the first few pages, which is all the further I got. Forging is not the practice of melting metal and reforming it, forging is heating metal and reforming it. Smelting is melting metal and casting it into a different shape.There may be value buried deeper, but I didn't look for it.

I think the previous review was over generous. This is bar far the worst "how to" book on blacksmithing. Don't waste your money.

This book is so poorly written I can't help but wonder if it was really written by a person that was taught the English language. It reads like it was poorly translated by someone from another country. Aside from that, it really offers very little help for someone who has an interest in blacksmithing. As an example, the instructions for making a knife are essentially: 1. Draw it 2. cut it out 3. put a handle on it 4. sharpen it.While those things are true, it seems pretty obvious. Certainly not worth spending your money on.I received this as a gift and am truly grateful for the thought of the giver, but I would never recommend this.

I thought this was going to be a thick, informative, book expressing all sorts of creative processes to make some really interesting pieces, it's pretty much a 23 page pamphlet. Very disappointed indeed. I should have just spent 5 minutes researching blacksmithing on the internet instead

This is just a notebook do not buy, waste of money, I expected a proper book for the money very disappointing

This book sucks, wouldn't recommend it to any one.
