Does what it says on the tin, but fiddly to set up
If what you want to do is display your laptop screen on your TV, this does the job. The converter works fine with my 5 year old Sony TV (it doesn't work with HD TVs). It needs 2 connections: Video output from the converter to the TV's S video input socket and audio from the laptop to the TV's audio input phono sockets. The video lead comes with the converter, but you may need to buy an audio lead if you haven't got one already. It does require some fiddling with the TV to get it to work, particularly the aspect ratio (16:9 seems to work best) and the input source selection. The screen resolution isn't brilliant - the picture isn't as sharp as it looks on the laptop and there is noticeable blurring if you're watching something with fast movement, but hey, what do you expect for the price?

Small unit which does the job
The first surprise with this item was the size of the unit itself. The box it comes in is quite large, but once you remove all the included leads you find the main unit isn't much bigger than a couple of packs of playing cards. The box contains leads for every possible combination of input and output that the unit can handle which is very good. It's also powered from a USB port via the supplied cable removing the need for a heavy power adapter. This means the unit is very portable and with its leads will fit into the pocket of a laptop case without any problem. The supplied manual is very brief, but functional. In use it the Converter was pretty much plug and play for me outputting my Samsung NC10 netbook to a Samsung 32" widescreen CRT TV. Connect the supplied VGA cable to the VGA out on your computer and to the VGA in on the Converter. Then choose the appropriate output for your TV and connect the cable. Finally, connect the USB power lead to a free port on the computer. After that just set your PC to output via VGA (usually one of the function keys on a laptop) and set the TV to the appropriate AV channel and there's your picture. After a few tweaks of the settings on my netbook's graphics card I had a very acceptable picture on the TV. It was a bit blurry to be able to use for tasks like word processing, web surfing, etc, but for watching services like YouTube, BBC iPlayer, etc it was perfectly good - and that was the task I wanted this for.The unit has some settings of its own if you want to play around with hue, brightness, sizing, etc. I tested with both AV out and S-Video and the picture was good. No more iPlayer on a 10" screen for me! For watching online streaming video this is a recommended product.

Good value for money
I needed to display the vga output from my PC to a TV in another room. Even with a long cable I found the the picture quality using the composite output (the lowest quality) was more than acceptable. You do need to adjust your display resolution first to one supported by the device, but otherwise it was "plug and play". The VGA output on the unit is useful as it allows you to keep your monitor display while using the TV.Remember that VGA is video only so if you want sound as well, you will need a separate cable from your PC sound output to the sound inputs on the TV.

ClimaxDigital does the job
This device does what it says it can. I've connected this between a Windows 7 PC and an analogue TV and it displays the PCs output. Text from desktops or Word are awful, but that was expected. I use this for films or photos from PC to TV. I also connected this between a Netbook (Win7 starter) and another analogue TV and again it worked fine. I've struggled to get a graphics card that will output from Windows 7 to an analogue TV and this does the business. GREAT!

Would be nice if I ever got one
I don't really know, if this thing actually works, since after more than 2 months I am still waiting for it to be delivered.I complained about it, but this doesn't seem to bother anyone. They took my money, though.

Sound!
I was impressed with the whole product itself but I couldnt get any audio...After a while. I got fed up and used a cable for my Video Camera, even then I was only able to use my TV volume not my 5.1 Dolby Digital...The picture was not brilliant and was very blury. After some adjustments the picture was very pixelated and was unbearable...From my experiences I would advise you to be ready to return this item.
