Very well made and worth the price

This is a very well made microscope. It works very well and is a steal at the price. Crystal clear imaging. I am very pleased with my order. I did have an issue with the order in the beginning due to missing the camera but the seller has amazing customer service who was very responsive and resolved my issue rather quickly and I am now waiting on it to be mailed. I was very satisfied with how responsive they were and helpful. This is an amazing research grade microscope which will out perform any exspensive lab microscope. Deff a very good buy and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Loose screws

All the screws holding the head mount on were floating loose in the microscope and one was missingIt feels a bit cheap in the action of the stage but for the money good value

Where can I get a replacement bulb?

I love it, but i left it on too long and the bulb died. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement bulb for my Research grade triocular compound laboratory microscope?

COULD be wonderful - BUT - mine arrived miscollimated (prisms weren't aligned)

Have you ever looked through binoculars that weren't aligned? And you saw "two" images that would not quite "merge" into one, so your eyes hurt looking through them? That's what this microscope did to me when I first got it - BUT - I was able to fix it (because that's the kind of tinkerer I am). But for mine to have arrived mis-collimated is a shame; when the images DO merge, this is quite an adequate - though not great - microscope. It is NOT a nice microscope when the images do NOT merge. One thing I noticed right away with the miscollimation is that the eyepieces do not fit snugly in the focuser. The wobbliness was helpful to make this work - initially - because I could push the eyepieces outwards and the the two images to merge. But that's also annoying and should be completely unnecessary for anyone to ever have to do in the first place. I had to wrap tape around the eyepiece barrels so they would fit snugly.Though the instructions say not to do so, I removed the one prism cover I could get off (the other screw was stripped) and adjusted that prism to make the images merge. It require a small metric allen wrench, but Voila! I have a better-working binocular microscope. The images I took of magnified things are hand-held using my cell phone, using prepared slides I already had. But I did order an adapter to hold a telescope-style camera with a 1.25" nosepiece in the overhead focuser section. The cell phone holder that came with this microscope was utterly useless - I could not get it to work on anything. Look for a 0.913" to 1.25" adapter (may have to look at overseas sources). I found one and it's on the way.The focus is good. The fine X and Y motion controls are WONDERFUL to move slides around and see different parts of what you're magnifying. The light could be a LITTLE brighter when the magnification is high, because the image gets a little dim, but not terribly so. One thing to note is that you think you may have something "centered" at lower power and then when you move to the next higher magnification, it will be in the same place? No, not so much. That's unfortunate too. It also exhibits a bit of chromatic aberration - note the bluish hue around the edge of some of my photos - it's because all wavelengths are not converging at a single point.A fully precision instrument this is not.A useful homeschool / home-use tool for magnifying objects? Yes. Science research? Probably not your first, fifth or 79th option. With a bit more care on collimation and a better eyepiece holder, I'd have given this 5 stars. But wobbly eyepieces and miscollimated prisms are not what most people want to have to fix out of the box.

Sent me a used one

Used, missing parts, and broken glass that I cut my hands on. It works and is great in that way. Despite the the oil that’s also all over glass slides and lenses.I would really love to be sent a new one- and a discount for the massive inconvenience and glass I had to pick up everywhere

Amazing microscope for beginners / class

The media could not be loaded. I'm quite surprised as to the good quality of this microscope for the price. I was expecting a bit less but pleased with what was received. The body is cast, heavy and solid, no toque issues during focus. The stage is also solidly built, if it's plastic it doesn't feel like it, it feels like metal with a powder coating or something. The stage clip could use a bit of work but it holds the slides in place well enough. All adjustments, stage and focus (coarse and fine) are well built and offer smooth movement. The condenser and aperture surprised me on this one, again for the price range I really assumed they would have skimped on the quality here but they actually pulled through and included some decent hardware that offers good lighting distribution and contrast adjustments. The LED itself, however, could use some work as the brightness levels aren't the best. Obviously it can dim down to off, but it doesn't seem to want to get bright enough when the aperture is closed all the way for higher contrast, it could use a bit more brightness, especially if using the 100/1.25 objective lens. The video in this review shows the blood sample provided with the microscope at 3 stages, recorded with my phone with the included phone mount atop the 2x & 25x lenses. The 1st part is 4/0.1 (200x), 2nd part is with 10/0.25 (500x), and 3rd / final part is with the 40/0.65 (2,000x).The phone mount is cheap plastic and wobbles around on the eyepiece, but locks to the phone quite well and offers adequate adjustments for your phone camera lens placement.Power supply is via a USB plug but the microscope itself doesn't have a USB plug (see picture of plug type). Power output of provided adapter states it's 1,000mA, so 1 amp, so keep that in mind in case you plan on using this with a USB power bank. Possible as long as it can output enough current. No broken or missing parts and overall very pleased. This will provide an amazing learning experience for the kids, with adult supervision and guidance. Highly recommend for any young aspiring scientists out there.
