Fantastic, A great item for the classic car enthusiast. Easy to use, good hand grip with pistol style trigger switch for comfort of use. good bright light. great HT lead connection with sliding clip, no need to detach HT lead. rubber protective light shroud keeps it safe from bumps and bashes during working. treat it well and I should thing it will last most amateur classic car enthusiasts for a good length of service life. Advance retard adjustment dial at back of the unit is easy to set. Good clips to battery terminals. I think quite a stylish design. Great gun, however the strobe light has failed (only used it 5 times) but can you get a replacement???? Can't find one anywhere in the WORLD! Emailed Gunson several times, no reply. So, great gun just hope it never fails.Edit: After ringing Gunson direct (David in the Service Dept) - I happy to say they kindly offered to send me a Xenon flasher unit FREE OF CHARGE. Therefore I have changed my review score to 5 stars. As I said before Great Gun - but now with great support.

Great timing light used for my MG really easy to use didn’t bother reading the instructions No issues with lead length if you know where to take power from in the engine bay. The switch at the back for the advance is easily moved but if you are aware it’s not a problem. Recommend

Does the job well. As other reviews have noted the advance adjuster has almost no friction to it and so is very easy to knock out of the position you set, hence 4 stars.

The gun worked perfectly the first time I used it, but after that it was very erratic and adjusting the dial made no difference.I sent it back to Gunsons for recalibration, which they did FOC despite the gun being out of warranty, but again I had the same problem. It worked the first time I used it, but after reconnecting it to check on the timing adjustment I'd just made, it wouldn't give a consistent flash and turning the dial made no difference. I tried it on another car and had the same problem, so sadly it's now consigned to the bin.

At around the £50 mark this light is a great tool. Does exactly what you want it to do. I wouldn’t pay more for it though and I have seen the same one being sold for up to £88. But for a simple timing light for the home mechanic I found this to be perfect.

Excellent bit of kit. The advance dial on the back of the timing light makes setting up any car easy. It's also amazing how much difference is made by rotating the car's distributor just a tiny bit. Now I understand why it's essential to use a timing light! Good quality, bright light, easy to use, what's not to like? Recommended!
