Easy to Use. Great Value. Feeling My Home/Office is Safer
With a gas water heater, furnace and dryer in my home/office, I've been concerned about not knowing about potential leaks. I picked up this unit to ensure all stays safe. With no experience in checking for explosive gases, I read the manual, looked over the device and went into each menu. From my perspective, the device did what I was hoping it would do by providing accurate sensors at a good value. It gave me a comfort level knowing my home is safe. Also, customer service was very quick and on-point in responding to my questions. The result is that the ADKS-4 Gas Detector is worth owning!Below are the details...OUT-OF-THE-BOX IMPRESSION1. Manual is easy to read and understand. The rare broken-English is a non-issue.2. [PIC 1] Pleasantly surprised at how easily it fit in my hand (size ~5 x 2 ½ x 1"). The readings shows the normal state of my home.3. Incredibly sturdy back clip.4. Unit is rechargeable with good battery life.5. Screen is easy to read in a variety of conditions. When in dim surroundings, backlight is bright, but times out in quickly, within 5 seconds. Pressing the left arrow key instantly brings it back up. That said, having an option to increase the timeout length would be a welcome modification.6. [PIC 2] Backside of unit is labeled with the production date and other useful info. I was glad that mine was made recently in April.MY EXPERIENCEI was surprised how simple this is to use. Basically, the default settings were sufficient for my needs.[PIC 3] Gas detected! To prove the unit could detect a gas leak, I took my gas grill lighter and allowed the gas to leak out of it with no flame. The device immediately alarmed with bright red flashing lights and loud beeps. It showed the Combustible (EX) category increased from 0% LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) to 100% and the Oxygen (O2) category diminished from 20.9% to 18.6%.[PICS 4, 5, 6] No gas leaks were found for my gas water heater, furnace and dryer -- Yay!

A must have safety device for your house or work-shop/work-place
The media could not be loaded. Portable multi-gas monitors are vital in protecting you from the hazards of toxic and combustible gases in confined spaces and dangerous work environments. Typical four gas monitors use an explosive meter multi-gas detector to detect combustible gas (methane, LPG, hexane, propane), carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, & oxygen deficiency/enrichment. Other multi gas detectors are available to detect other specific gases, such as ammonia, chlorine, ethylene oxide, ozone, phosphine styrene and sulfur dioxide. This particular model however, will focus on those four essential but dangerous gases: H2S, O2, CO and LEL.LEL: Stands for “Lower Explosive Limit” and is the lowest concentration of a particular gas that has the potential to be flammable or combustible. In other words, it’s the minimum amount of gas that will catch fire or explode when an ignition source is present. If a gas concentration is less than the lower limit, there is insufficient gas for the mixture to ignite.O2: Oxygen gas detectors will typically trigger an alarm when the oxygen level drops below 19.5 percent volume. The most common use of oxygen gas detection is in confined spaces, totally or partially closed areas not designed to be permanently occupied.CO: This is a poisonous, colorless and odorless gas that interferes with the blood’s ability to carry oxygen. Under normal operating conditions, well maintained and correctly ventilated gas appliances produce minimal CO, but high CO levels can occur if one or more of the following conditions exist: An appliance is faulty or poorly maintained. A flue is partially or totally blocked. The appliance is not installed in an adequately ventilated area.H2S: Hydrogen sulfide (also known as H2S, sewer gas, swamp gas, stink damp, and sour damp) is a colorless gas known for its pungent "rotten egg" odor at low concentrations. It is extremely flammable and highly toxic. As you see above, having this multi-gas detector could be a life saver in some situations. This particular model comes with a storage/transportation hard shell/case, along with its user manual and a Mini-USB to USB charging cable. It’s well build, rugged and also waterproof, which is great. It provides visual, audible and physical (vibrations) alarms, which you can’t miss in case of an emergency.Whether in a refinery, petrochemical or wastewater plant, or perhaps a warehouse or even your house (if you live in Ohio lately), it’s crucial to have a reliable gas detection system you can depend on. With nationally recognized hazardous area certifications, this multi-gas detector is guaranteed to safeguard your facility or your home.

Gas Detector
My opinion is that this gas detector stands out from others available on the market due to the fact that it has many indications. You are certain to be informed of possible gas hazards in any situation thanks to the mix of vibration, loud warnings, and a visual display. It is essential to have this redundancy, particularly in conditions that are loud, visually hard, or both. Real-time gas concentration levels are shown on the LCD screen, which enables choices to be made quickly and with complete knowledge. One of the most notable benefits, in my opinion, is the ability to be recharged. When compared to alternatives that are disposable, the gas detector is a more cost-effective and environmentally responsible option since it can be recharged. An exceptional battery life allows the device to continue to function normally even after lengthy hours of usage without compromising its functionality. Having the knowledge that the gas detector will be ready to go whenever I need it is a great source of comfort.

2 to 4 year life span on sensors if used a lot and there not replaceable
works great. we had this mysterious problem in our house with illness so I bought one of these to test with. worked very good. Ended up putting charcoal filter in a tower fan for the gas stove.
