Olfa RTY-2DX Deluxe Rotary Cutter, 45 mm, Yellow

Never used a cutting wheel before.I love the see retractable blade with the locking mechanism, locks shut and open, Very sharp wheel and the wheel is is replaceable. easy to use and same Ofla quality as the knives I usually use.

I didn't know that Olfa was one of the leaders for this kind of cutter, so I bought another couple of them in the past from different brand, as they all looked nearly the same.Although the other ones were not too bad, this one is absolutely on another level. The blade is really sharp and stable. The whole mechanism is also so much more solid and reliable, allowing for smooth and precise cuts.the price is also nearly the same as the other brands so I absolutely recommend to buy Olfa for any need you may have.

This is easy to grip and cuts really cleanly. You must remember how sharp it is as, if you loose a moments concentration, you can go off course very quickly and ruin your project. There are certain jobs that I would only use scissors but the rotary is brilliant for loads of fabric jobs. I like the little red safety button too. My last cutter I needed to hold the button in while I was using it which I can understand as the blade retracts as soon as you let go making it safe but this button stays in until you push it again from the opposite side which I prefer.Obviously you need to keep it well away from children as it is ridiculously sharp.

Really good cutter. Very sharp and cut through multiple layers. I used it when making a padded and laminated Food mixer cover For a friend (so two layers of cotton, one of padding and two layers of plastic coating)My only disappointment is that it seems to miss cutting a teeny bit, maybe only two threads, every rotation . I can feel the jump in it as I use it.Of course this may be what it should do, I’m not sure. But I then need to repeat or snip with scissors . Other than that .. perfect and far neater than using scissors.I just need to take a bit more time cutting as I get used to it. I had a few cuts that went off my straight edge due to me going too fast but I am certainly converted to a cutter 😊👍

It does the job.

My first try with a rotary cutter. Is very sharp. Easy to manoeuvre around a pattern. Strurdy little tool. The blade retracts when not in use. A great tool to add to my sewing paraphernalia.

I like the safety of the lock, it’s very accurate and sharp, it’s much easier than scissors.

I chose this item as I already had a similar one which had became blunt. Didn’t realise how blunt it was until I used new one which is very sharp. Great value for money and saved a lot of my time
