First of this is an initial review. I originally purchased this because my charging port on my S3 no longer functions so I needed to purchase this and the wireless charging pad (RAVPower RP-WCN7 Wireless Charging Pad). The charging pad itself is great and I rated it a 5/5. When I first got the receiver it would have been a 5/5, as it solved my problem of being able to charge my phone with a non working port. Initially it worked great, very simple adhesive pad that attached to the battery, and very simple to install (less than 5 seconds - you just place it on). But my problem is with the adhesive, it is just simple clear strip of sticky tacky rubber (or some other material), and once it comes off, it does not seem to charge as well because it is not attached to the battery as well as it could be. This is somewhat my fault, as I kept peeling it off and putting it on a spare battery I have, which lead to it being worn down. But after just a week with a peel and switch maybe every other day, it lost so much of it's tacky properties that it could no longer stick to the battery, and it actually fell off and I could not find it. Once that had happened, it noticed that it became harder for the wireless pad to "sense" the receiver and start to charge it. I would sometimes have to re-position the phone on the pad until I heard the BEEP that indicates that it is charging. I am not sure, but it seems like it does not charge as fast (keeping in mind that wireless chargers do not charge as fast as direct cable anyway), but honestly I have not run any test, and it could just all be in my head. Because the adhesive is gone, one of the best advantages to wireless charging has become muted. When the adhesive was still on, and made a solid connection to the battery, you could simply place it on the pad, and you would hear the accompanying BEEP. Now, because the contact is not as good, I have to re-position and try to "find" the spot where it will BEEP. Again, this problem came about from me peeling it off and on several times, but I feel like perhaps, there should be a wider adhesive instead of the thin strip, or maybe come with an extra one just in case. When it worked as it should, this was a 5/5 product, because it did what it was supposed to do. I will contact RAVPower to see if I can purchase another adhesive slip, or if they can direct me to a place where I can purchase it on my own (if there is a specific type). I will update this review if it gets resolved, but for now its a 4/5. I really want to give it a 3 or 3.5/5 because the product itself is solid, but that little strip of adhesive is crucial to it functioning correctly, and I realize it was due to the way I was using it, that it became less functional. But if you never mess that up, for you it should be a 5/5 .

Awesome product! I had a Droid DNA with built-in Qi charging and had to downgrade to an S3. I immediately missed the convenience of wireless charging and was pleasantly surprised to see add-ons had dropped to <$10 at my time of purchase. The charging film fits in just fine on top of the existing contacts and battery. Just pop the cover off, use the adhesive strip to locate it in place, and replace the back cover. I do not notice any bulging and do use a (soft) case that still fits fine. The stock back cover fits the same way.Charging is a little slower than with a cord, but I normally charge overnight or in short spurts during the day. With a cord I had to be more deliberate about setting up my phone for charging, but with the Qi charger I just slap it down whenever I want and pick it up to use quickly. It's a great convenience for the price!

Okay so this only appears to work IF the charge you get supports OVER 1500 ma. I thought my one charger was 1500 but it was only 1000 and the other two are 750ma. So I bought the RAV power pad and it works. What sucks is that it won't work on any of the others. Kind of makes it useless. I didn't need SPEED charging, I just wanted an additional phone to be able to use the pads I currently have, one of which is a dual charger at the bar outside at the pool. So I would NOT recommend buying this one if you want to use with multiple chargers of different strengths. If you only have ONE charger, and it is the strong one that is needed to activate it, and you want to charge your phone fast, then by all means buy it. But i would look elsewhere for one that is more universally compatible without restrictions.

great for the Samsung s3 as I no longer could use the charging port to charge the battery. placed this inside only takes a couple of minutes and placed it on the charging pad I bought with this. I was not sure it would charge through the hard case I had on the phone but that was not a problem and it charges with the case installed. Much less expensive that sending the unit out to have the charging port replaced plus I have a second s3 that I will purchase one of these for. if I change phones they appear to have various other receiver for several phone models. If you are having problem with your charging port would highly recommend you purchase one of these receivers and the charging pad, great combo

Fits under the stock battery cover with no issues. I don't use any third party cases. Charges overnight so I don't know if it's faster or slower than direct cable connection.My only problems were with the phone, not the charger. My Samsung S3 plays a sound when charge starts and turns on the screen. Does the same when charge ends. That woke me up for the first night because it hit 100%, then dropped to 90% and restarted the charge, then hit 100% ...Fixed with software. I found 'sNooZy charger' that turns off the screen and deleted the .ogg files for charge start sound. Put tape over the charge pad leds and slept like a baby.

I bought this with the RAVPower Wireless Charger Charging Pad for my Samsung Galaxy S3. The micro usb port on my phone was not working and I couldn't charge my phone. This works PERFECT! I can charge my phone now and I don't have to buy a new one. YAY!It fits right against my battery. and I can close the back. I have a cheap case on my phone, and it doesn't fully close, but it still keeps my phone safe. It does make it a little bit bulky, but it is a VERY small inconvenience. I highly recommend, even if your port isn't abused like my phone's.
