I would only use this on carpet to carpet rugs. It is nearly impossible to remove from other surfaces and leaves a sticky residue. Do not use on carpets with an anti slip rubber type backing.

I read many of the online reviews and my decsion to this purchase the Wingogh tape was a no brainer. To date I have used it on two area rugs, which over the years continually had to be adjusted even though they had underlying "non-slip' pads or sticky material. I installed this tape on both rugs (one on a wood floor and the other on a carpet) the day it was received. The rugs, located in high traffic areas, have stayed exactly in place. A terrific product! My wife adds that she can't believe how well the Wingogh tape works. I can't agree wtth those few complaints about the tape sticking to the scissors or itself, you simply have to take your time as your dealing with an adhesive.

This tape is strong, Im really surprised at its strength. I use carpet tape a lot and I go through it pretty fast but this is so strong i only need the smallest amount to hold my rugs in place, so it will last for a really long time. Also you get quite a bit for the price. The type I get from Wal-Mart is the same price but I probably get one third less than this so it is a great deal.In fact this tape is so strong we are going to use it to hold down insulation for a project and an antenna in our van that never stays in place. It will be nice to have such strong double sided tape not just for carpets but for other projects.

So I have rugs on either side of my bed and one a runner in my closet. They were constantly bunching up under the bed or sliding around, and the one in the closet would creep out the door somehow or curl up the wall. I'd been looking at those grips with teeth since both of these areas are carpeted but none had great reviews. Tape never occurred to me because I didn't think it would hold. As the other reviews say, this stuff is great. It's almost like double sided duct tape in that it has fibers running through it, but easier to work with. I also used it to attach foam bumpers to sharp corners where 3m tape had failed me. So far this stuff is great!

***UPDATE*** 26May18 The tape and area rugs have been installed on top of carpet for about 6 months now and I had a dog tear up the rug. Needless to say I had to remove it and was super impressed!! The tape held like a champ but when removed it didn't leave behind any residue and I was able to take it off whole pieces. I am thoroughly impressed.***This stuff is great. I got so fed up contastly putting rugs back but I applied the tape about a month ago and none of the corners have lifted and they’ve stayed nice and snug. I’ve even found other uses for it. I have not tried to take the tape off yet so not sure how removal will go.

Holds very tight! Comes off the roll with the backing tape intact and one sticky side exposed. I turned the rug upside down and ran the tape in four pieces around the perimeter. Then I positioned the rug (right-side up) without removing the backing tapes. Then I folded one edge of the rug back and removed the backing tape and pressed the rug edge down. Then I did the same with the opposite edge of the rug. For the remaining sides I raised the edge of the rug up just enough to peel off the backing tape. The rug looks great now and stays put. After it's taped down you can vacuum it without pulling it up.

I think this is the real deal, finally! It stopped my area rug from "humping up" when walked on, it keeps my door mats from traveling! I was skeptical on the no residue, but for as sticky as this stuff is, I do not have to wash my hands after using it due to tackiness. I am loving it and I am finding other uses for it. Today I gave up on the Velcro tabs and used it to replace the liner on my riding helmet. I am going to come up with dozens of places to use this stuff!

This worked great for securing our braided rugs to the hardwood floors. I haven't tried to remove it yet, so hopefully it doesn't leave a residue. We have a large puppy that races through the kitchen, and our rugs don't slide. The tape also helped to smooth out the rugs and secure edges to prevent tripping. It was easy to install. Tip: Spray your scissors with cooking spray before cutting the tape.Addendum: Seller promised a free product for a 5-star review, but did not follow through.
