Pairs with ikea tradfri bulbs, extend your mesh.
I’m trying to get some home automation set up in an old stone wall house. I have managed to pair temperature and humidity sensors and motion sensors (all Sonoff). But some sensors are dropping off; I believe this is because some are too far away from the hub. So the solution will be to extend and build a mesh network with powered (router) Zigbee devices. The problem has been finding devices that will pair to this hub. Aqara devices will not pair.I can confirm Ikea tradfri light bulbs will pair with this hub. So I will use these to build and extend my mesh network. These bulbs must be within 5cms of the hub during pairing. My solution was to power the bulb in its final position, then bring the hub to the bulb. I did this by powering the Sonoff Zigbee bridge pro off a usb battery power bank, then used the ewelink app for the pairing process. Then returned the hub to its normal operating position. So far this has worked. I will update this review when I can see if this improves the end sensors devices dropping out.Update Dec 2024I now use 3 of these. This is a farm with several outbuildings. My Wi-Fi signal can reach the other outbuildings (just). so I put a Sonoff Pro bridge hub in the Polytunnel (where sheep are lambed) and another in the Portacabin (farm office). The Zigbee devices are then connected to the Sonoff hub in their location . From the Ewelink app I can turn on/off lights, kettles; monitor temperature in all the different locations. The furthest distance would be about 50 metres from the internet router in the house. The Portacabin used to be a problem running wi-fi smart devices. Its a metal building so wi-fi from the house didn’t operate at the back of it; but the Wi-Fi signal did reach the front of the building; so I sited the Sonoff pro bridge there and all the Zigbee devices inside the portacabin work perfectly when paired to that hub.In the Polytunnel the Sonoff Pro hub is used to control a water heater, light and a kettle. At 2 am in the morning when you need to move quickly to assist a sheep lambing. I have a routine that switches on the lights that get me from the house to the Polytunnel, turns on the water in the kettle in the Polytunnel, and switches everything off in the house as I leave. Then I have another routine that turns off things in the Polytunnel as I leave to go back to the house, which includes switching on the electric blanket so I can climb into a warm bed.I have mostly used Sonoff devices with these hubs, ie motion sensor, door sensor, temperature humidity, button switches and no neutral switches. The IKEA tradfri bulbs have been super reliable at extending the mesh. The biggest problem I’ve had is getting uk Zigbee smart plugs. I did get Woolley Zigbee smart plugs of Amazon (I have 8). They are often unavailable. But they are superb, very reliable with this hub and Ewelink. They offer scheduling and power monitoring. If your having problems with things going off line, then consider either extending your mesh with the bulbs and smart plugs; or divide your space with a second hub, having first ensured your wi-fi reaches the weak area. Then there’s the house. It’s been undergoing some renovation. The old (oil) boiler is about 50 years old. It used to be wired into one those manual timers. The ones that you clicked in out little pegs to turn it on off; and every time the time changed you had to reset the timer. (Misery). The kitchen got updated with underfloor heating, still working off the old boiler. The plumber cut the wiring off the old timer and wired on an ordinary plug on the end. It’s plugged into a Woolley Zigbee smart plug ; and it’s running the central heating. The smart plug can be scheduled to come on/off at whatever time I want. But more useful is the Sonoff temperature monitor. It’s in the kitchen and a scene on Ewelink controls the Woolley plug turning on/off the heating, Simple and cheap and it works.

Does the job
I bought the Sonoff Smart Curtain & needed a Sonnoff hub to intergrate them into Alexa so I bought this as it was the cheapest one Amazon was selling.Easy set up, plug in, open the eweelink app, add hub, hub found, hub connected, hub finds the smart curtain. I have tony of smart devices but this hub only controls my sonoff curtains. I have them set to auto open / close every day & they always do.They also always work via my voice commands everytime so the hub seems perfectly good to me.

Elevating Home Automation
In my quest to elevate home automation, I integrated the SONOFF Zigbee Bridge Pro Hub along with the eWeLink app, and the results have been genuinely transformative.Setting up the Zigbee Bridge Pro was refreshingly straightforward. Guided by the user-friendly eWeLink app, connecting the hub to my Wi-Fi network and Zigbee devices was seamless. In just minutes, the hub was operational, ready to redefine my living space. The eWeLink app plays a pivotal role in this experience. Its intuitive interface and step-by-step instructions made the setup process a breeze. I appreciated how it seamlessly guided me through connecting my devices, ensuring that I was up and running in no time. The app's compatibility with the Zigbee Bridge Pro is seamless. Controlling and managing a diverse range of Zigbee devices, from lights to sensors, felt effortless. The eWeLink app's interface made it easy to monitor and control these devices with a few simple taps.A standout feature of the eWeLink app is its integration with voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant. This added another layer of convenience to my smart home experience. With voice commands, managing connected devices became even more intuitive, transforming my home into a haven of hands-free automation. However, it's important to note that while the eWeLink app offers substantial functionality, there were instances where I encountered minor performance hiccups. These occasional delays led to a slightly less seamless experience. While these occurrences were infrequent, they did impact my overall satisfaction, prompting me to give this review a 4-star rating.Despite this limitation, the Zigbee Bridge Pro's unobtrusive design makes it an easy fit in any room, and the eWeLink app complements this with its simple yet effective interface. Together, they empower your smart home setup without drawing unnecessary attention. In conclusion, the SONOFF Zigbee Bridge Pro Hub, paired with the eWeLink app, has exceeded my expectations in many ways. From its straightforward setup and compatibility with a diverse range of devices to the app's seamless control capabilities, it's a must-have for anyone seeking to enhance their home automation. This duo has not only simplified my daily life but also added a touch of futuristic convenience to my living space. For a seamless, responsive, and efficient smart home experience, the Zigbee Bridge Pro Hub and eWeLink app deserve a central place in your setup, despite the occasional performance hiccups.

Works well, reliable
Installed and works well. Neat and smaller than expected. Good range, it’s installed upstairs and connected to Zigbee devices on the ground floor. Used to switch lights (through motion sensors) and to control window blinds. Integrates easily with Alexa. Very happy with purchase.

Zigbee is an open standard, but SONOFF is a closed system.
Already frustrated that Tapo and Smart Life don't integrate except through Alexa, I wanted to add Zigbee sensors and smart switches to my Smart Life setup. The SONOFF smart buttons dropped off the Smart Life Zigbee gateway, even when the gateway was moved to the nearest socket in the same room, and only one switch function was accessible, so I had to be the gateway or both buttons. It was more likely to be the singular gateway, so bought this one to see of the expected button functionality was there. I never got to find out as it doesn't work with Smart Life and required me to use eWeLink. That's a deal-breaker. Returned the hub and the smart switches. I won't be back to SONOFF, it was a wrong turn!
