Works With Philips Audio Fidelio X2HR

So I had the X2HR's for less than a week and was impressed with the quality and sound enough that I felt the need to replace the less impressive velour pads. The originals were to warm and uncomfortable for me, while these are still warm they are an improvement. If you have the X2HR's and are concerned about these fitting with the weird little nubs for attaching the original pads, the black lamb skin pads don;t seem to have any issues from just ignoring them and wrapping the little folds around the edges. Its a tight fit and takes a bit of effort but they will go on without issues.HOWEVER, you will have to cut a small hole for the aux to fit into the headphones, I just used a knife to poke it a bit then a nail clippers to clean it up and its not even noticeable when its plugged in.Another thing to watch out for is the little seam that's on the outer edge of each pad. It didn't even occur to me that I should maybe rotate them to hide or align them before I cut the hole so the seam shows on the front of the left cap due to my hole placement. This is not really a big deal since nobody really see's it but if your concerned about aesthetics you will want to consider how you have them rotated before making any holes.Sound:I must reiterate that I only had the X2HR's for a short while and giving a side to side comparison is difficult due to these pads not being the easiest the put on the cans. Overall they still sound pretty similar regardless of my source, however it does seem like there has been a boost in the low end. The bass seems more punchy and the highs seem to have became a bit softer, not as piercing so an improvement. However bias might be a factor as previous reading has said that leather pads on the X2HR's has increased sound quality so I went into this expecting an improvement so perhaps I just heard what I want to hear. Conclusion:For 20$ you cant go wrong. It seems to have improved the sound and they are overall more comfortable than the velour pads these replaced. However they are still warmer than I would like and did require an easy modification for my particular headphones.

Great replacement for Beyerdynamic MMX 100

So I bought these with the intention of fixing my Beyerdynamic MMX 100 headphones as they hardly have 3rd party support for earpad replacements due to the the ring lock system they use. Hopefully that'll change soon but a for now these work very well but an important thing to know is that for these to work, you need to rip out the standard earpads and inner cover on the lock rings and place these the rings which will fit really well so not to worry. Then you might need to try a few times to get the locks in place with the new earpad back lips covering the locks but it will fit, seal, and lock with a bit of force just fine. Not the best solution but it sounds great and feels absolutely comfortable with hybrid velour top contact and have worn for a few hours without issue.

Fits Sony pulse 3d with a bit of work, Edited to include pulse elites

The work you have to put in is solely down to Sony's proprietary mounting for the ear cups. The original pads have a plastic mount ring on them. You absolutely need this ring for these pads to work. The original cups are glued or epoxied to the ring. I used a knife to cut away the old pads and put the new ones over the ring. You can cut the new pads to make it easier to mount them, but I found it unnecessary. I was able to simply fold the new pads around the plastic mount clips and it fit with a bit of fiddling. Make sure you know what part of the ring mounts facing forwards when you put the pads on the ring, I had to use a flashlight to double check I was mounting them right. The rings only mount one way. The result however was well worth it. I hated the pulse 3d headset before this mod, the drivers were hard pressed against my ears before I added these pads. I have a big head and unusually large ears. These pads are less ventilated than the old pads, but the lack of my ears being pressed against the drivers means I can use these for more than 10 minutes without major pain. The sound signature does change a little, you get a less intimate more spacious feel with these pads. The seal is better though, so bass feels more punchy. Overall well worth it if you are unsatisfied with the crap pads Sony includes. The review is mostly the same for the Pulse Elites, except that the new pads are more a matter of preference rather than necessity. I also used the velour pads instead of the faux leather.

Comfortable but...

These replacement earpads are extremely comfortable and a nice upgrade. However they will alter the sound of your headphones.I am using the Tascam TH-MX2 and after replacing the earpads the incoming sound has been dulled and muffled slightly, given the comfort they provide i would say it's worth the tradeoff; particularly with the aforementioned headphones which have INCREDIBLY uncomfortable stock earpads.

Worked great on my Marantz studio headphones

Installed easily with a little effort. Fit perfectly and feel great. We'll see how they last. Don't know about durability yet.
