All of these cassette converters are the same product from different retailers, so I doubt that it matters where you buy from. I’ve purchased three. One never worked, the other worked for an hour, and the last one got me through the last hour that I needed it for.

I bought this item about two weeks ago. After 1 week, it stopped working. For the price I paid for this adapter, I expected to work for much longer. I changed to a new battery but it literally stopped moving. Don’t buy this item!

I had one of these from back in the 1990s that used to work but when I tried to use it more recently the tape was stuck in it - I had to completely disassemble it to get the tape out.Was a little nervous about some of the reviews which suggest this is an ongoing problem but it is working perfectly so far, and I know if the tape does get stuck I can always take it apart but having hopes that it will last a while.

I have had compact VHS cassettes sitting in a plastic container in my basement since the literal turn of the century, containing precious memories of my childhood and my loved ones. We haven't been able to view these in decades, and now I was able to record them so I can share them with my niece and family.Make sure you have a couple AA batteries handy.

It’s so hard to find the needed equipment to watch old cassettes and vhs tapes excuse if my terminology is wrong, not very familiar with it). My family and I have not seen these tapes in many years. So glad to have found this tool. It’s very easy to use! Not very complicated!! Put in the batteries, then the tape! Once you close the flap for the cassette, it will automatically set the tape in order to use. Once your done watching, slide the button thing on the bottom left and it’ll return the tape inside the cassette hassle free! I loved it! Worth the try!! I had no issue with mine!
