I bought this to deter deer. It has had no effect. Yet, the click of my sliding door latch sends the deer scurrying away. So, what's with the "ultrasonic"? Why not let the thing make an audible sound, which i know is effective?

I have not seen any bugs since I started using them. For mice I can definitely say that they do not keep mice from your home. I went back to old wooden trap and caught two in one day.
