I keep it on the desk of my home office. I don't keep the room super bright, so it's hand when I am paying bills and such and want to make sure I am reading the amount correctly. Usually if you try to buy something like this in the store, the magnification is pretty low compared to this one.

Great bright light, handle is comfortable but viewing glass is a bit too small.

I've used magnifiers most of my life, as I am legally blind. This one is is easy to throw in a pocket or a bag small lightweight. I could use a little stronger magnification personally, as well I wish it had a dial for the strength of the light. The light is is bright, but a times can be too bright in certain situations. Other than that I would consider this to be a good buy. If you need a magnifying glass.

If you've ever had to check houseplants for spider mites, you'll understand the value of a handy magnifier! I keep this one with my plant supplies. I have even done a magnified cell phone video through this lens, to verify movement of nearly invisible invaders. As a small size magnifier, I can maneuver under plant leaves to get in close enough in small spaces where a larger magnifier would not fit.Also, this is a great pocket size for seeing "the fine print" on product instruction pamphlets, tiny print on my cell phone screen, label-reading while shopping, etc.

Ideal UserI purchased this lighted magnifier to use for identifying small seeds and plants for an agronomy class. The model I purchased was an Ultra Optix #SV-2LP-LED Pock Lighted Magnifier. I do not recommend this tool for children to use. The ideal user for this product would be someone that needs to look at small objects with detail. I would also recommend this product to any student in need of a hand lens for identifying plants or seeds in classes or crops competitions. I am excited to use this in the future for identification in future agronomic courses and my career.Positive CharacteristicsThe criteria I used to evaluate the lighted magnifier were the clarity of magnification, durability, and difficulty of usage. I have found that the magnification is exceptional for identifying small details. This magnifying glass has made identifying wheat seeds much easier because of clarity that it provides for viewing the brush and cheeks of the seed. When looking at plants this magnifying glass helps to magnify any pubescence on the leaves or stems. The simple design of the product makes it easy for any person to use. The LED light is very useful for distinguishing small details in poor lit environments. The handle is designed to allow anyone to have a good grip. The durable design prevents cracking of the lens or frame even when accidently dropped. This product is a convenient size and is easily packable. This magnifying glass unfortunately does not come with a case; however, there are small pouches available that it can easily be stored in. Small cases can be purchased on Amazon at a minimal cost to alleviate this inconvenience. As a full time student, having this magnifying glass in a small size is important because of the limited space in my backpack. Since it is such a convenient size, I am able to bring this magnifying glass with me daily.Overall, I have been very satisfied with this purchase. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, small magnifying glass.

I bought this once before and returned it because the 1.5" lens is too small for me to see anything. Later I bought a 7x magnifier with a 2" lens that I love (the Reizen Maxi-Brite LED Handheld Magnifier - 7X, for $38). I wanted a second 2" lens magnifier, but bought this one by mistake. I am visually impaired and clicked on the wrong item in my history. I am unable to return this item. Amazon has changed their customer service policies, so I am no longer able to chat or talk to a human.If you are considering buying a 7x magnifier, it is often easier to use with a larger lens size. For me, the extra cost of the 2" lens was justified, because this 1.5" lens size is useless for me.
