Excellent take on jallikattu
Interesting, engaging story with rich regional dialect. Felt like watching jallikattu so close with all minute details of how man and animal thinks. Don't miss it.

Riveting novella
Crisp writing and vivid portrayal of an ancient Tamil sport. Si.Su.Chellappa weaves magic with his words in painting this. What attracts human beings to tame a bull in its irate nature? Why do people consider “honor” as a key value in risking their lives on this sport? Chellappa does not spoon feed us on this but sets the context to answer ourselves.

A Riveting Narrative
This is a quick read which vividly portrays a Jallikattu fight sometime after independence when the feudal structure had not yet broken down. The story is about a young man (Pichi) who participates in Jallikattu to vanquish the bull, of a Zamindar, which gores his father to death. The author provides a excellent narrative of the fight and the story is rooted in realism as Pichi after winning fight and soaked in blood prostrates before the Zamindar and apologises for defeating the bull. Though the Zamindar pretends to be a large hearted man and rewards Pichi, the bull is not as lucky and is killed by the Zamindar.

Masterpiece of about Jallikattu
From starting to end, narration was really excellent and their language used to speak, and characters build up everything perfect. Description of vaadivasal was really mind blowing, no one provide such a complete details like this one. Pichi, Maruthan, and Paattaiya fine characterization and complete the flow of story, Jameen character too there is no doubt in it. Excellence done by CS Sellappa
