RankieDisplayPort (DP) to DVI Cable, Gold Plated, 6 Feet

Bought to replace similar cable which was too thick near the DisplayPort end. My computer has two displayport outlets that are very close together, so I needed something that had thinner plastic around the DP male end. This product did the job nicely.

On both mine monitors that have only dvi and vga plug ins. This adapter works on both an Asus VS228h (has hdmi, dvi and vga hookups). The other monitor is an Acer with just dvi and vga. Adapter works on both. Thank you Amazon for having these. And yes, I purchased it two different times.

I used it to plug in an older DVI monitor into a DisplayPort slot of my video card. Works as expected.

In the past I hadn't had luck when buying a short adapter and then connecting a cable to the adapter (if I wiggled the adapter my screen would flicker or turn off) , so instead I buy the full length cable with each end with the correct connector. That's what this is, a full length cable with DVI on one end and Display port on the other end. One solid long cable. I plugged it in and it works perfectly. Just fyi. I am using two 19" square monitors, not wide screen, with a laptop. So one monitor is using VGA to VGA on my laptop and my other monitor is using DVI on the monitor to display port on laptop. With my laptop screen opened, I now have 3 screens.

My Dell Precision 5810 workstation came with a video card with 2 display ports and a DVI port, enabling me to run 3 monitors simultaneously. One day, the 3 monitors stopped working reliably together, so I thought the video card was going bad, requiring an expensive ($150+) replacement. But before I opened the box on the new card I bought, I decided to do some cable swapping on the off chance that the problem was with one of the two older monitors in my system.A little trial and error established that the monitors were all good, and the problem was that one of the display port cables had gone bad. I ordered a replacement cable, plugged it in and all the displays suddenly were working better than ever. I returned the new card still sealed in the unopened box for full credit and saved a lot of money!

What can I say? I purchased this item based on customer reviews, which I normally do, as part of my research process when contemplating what to purchase. I had been using a dongle adapter made by company that has the same name as an energy drink. I bought it years ago, but not only is that cable much too thick and stiff - more bothersome, the signal kept breaking up.Thus far, this cable has worked without a glitch. As far as interconnect cables go, I really must learn that a less expensive cable (although I did not purchase the stiff cable mentioned above for the purpose that I use the Rankie cable) can do just as good of job.Satisfaction comes from a product that does the job without any showstoppers. This is one of those products.

I had no idea what a displayport was until I got a new computer and I found this weird looking almost-hdmi-but-not port on the video card. I had to google it to figure out what it was!I'm too cheap for a new monitor and a pigtail with a heavy adapter hanging off the end was going to look sloppy, not to mention I wasn't sure how the port would hold up with all that weight hanging off it.Fortunately, this cable was about the same price, is easier to route than my old DVI cable, and works perfectly. Can't ask for a better solution.

Pretty good length, cable is nice and pliable so it was easy to cable manage, and of chide the noisy important thing it works. Feels like it's reasonably good quality for what it costs.
