Good solid case, well ventilated
Bought this (X825-C8 V2.0) for an OMV NAS box. It's solid and does the job. Everything fits and there *is* a slot for the SD card although I use tweezers to get the card out as it sits slightly below the face of the case - long nails might work. I assembled this with an X825, an X735 and a Samsung SSD and an Argon 3.5A psu. All fits well and everything works, it's small and quiet. Only niggles are that the fan control software (for the PSU board) doesn't play with OMV so I run the fan off 3.3V (it's barely audible) and the power switch is also not supported in OMV so, although startup is "press the button", if you clean shut down the Pi remotely you have to press and hold the power to switch off the power board to restart it ... all a bit of a waste of time for my application so it's become an on-off rather than a soft switch. With a clean Raspberry Pi OS intall it should behave better with the provided scripts. My one real gripe is not wholly Geekworm's fault - the SSD expander board has to connect via an external USB3-USB3 adapter which, although small, is a really messy requirement. However the board connections on the adapter are not covered to it is possible to short them out against a metal surface - a piece of tape stops that - but it they'd put insulation over the board it would have solved the problem (eg like the Argon one version). All in all not a bad unit for the bits that fit in it but does have a couple of niggles.

Great little caddy for my RaspPi
Was looking for a caddy to house my Raspberry Pi NAS and found this. Geekworm have all the bits necessary to complete the project, and they all fit neatly in to this box.

Dont forget to buy all the additional modules if you want it to work with the power button and SSD.
Its a pretty neat little box. However the price is very high for the quality of the metal used and considering that two additional daughter bords are needed, each costing around £25 on top of the case (another £25) it is over priced.I am disappointed that even when purchasing these additional boards to make use of the basic functionality (SSD and power button), a power lead is not included to make use of the barrel jack power input. The video instructions are played in fast-forward, although its easy to assemble. The printed instructions are very poorly translated and don't actually make sense - the FAQ section being a prime example:"Q1: Why system crashes while using USB Boot. and shows drive was removed?" I am not sure what this means and the answer is equally confusing:"A: Please try to format the HDD/SSD especially when using s new HDD/SSD. When the HDD/SSD is not recognised, please also try formatting the HDD/SSD to check.Given the price of the product I expect the instruction manual to read in correct English, at this price point, this is just not acceptable.Having said this I do like the product, however taking into account the Argon ONE is cheaper and has massively better build quality, I would buy that over this box any day of the week.
