Going to install it on my A.P.U which I have not done yet I Installed it on my APU yesterday but I'm still getting alt cod 3 and I also replaced ground wier, still as alt code 3 and shuts off ofter 3 to 4 minutes any help from you guys would be great.Up date thermo king found 3 wires broken under the sleeper in that big harness plus there is a 5 amp fues in the APU it had blown, and there going to replace the 50 amp fuse holder and wire, due to getting g to hot with the new update wire and fuse in line. Alternator is all good .

Seized up, bad fit.
I bought the DB Electrical 400-42005 Alternator for THERMO-KING TRI-PACK and received it on May 1st. Within 3 weeks it seized up 100%, completely locked up. Up untill that point it was working but it was not a good fit for my TK Evolution. larger than an OEM alternator which meant getting a longer belt. To be fair I did not contact the seller for a refund or support after it failed.

Good alternative to a Thermoking unit? we shall see
Purchased this alternator to put on a 2007 model year Thermoking Tripac APU. This model I installed it on did not have the idler pulley, and had a 3" pulley that swapped on no problem. I installed this alternator on 11/6/2017. Bolted on perfect, everything with orientated correctly and all the wire hook ups where correct. I'll be keeping track of how well this alternator holds up as I would rather purchase an aftermarket then an over priced thermoking.I just ordered a second alternator to put on another truck APU which has a 3 inch pulley and does have the idler pulley.11/26/2017 update, both alternators installed without issue, have been running nightly in OTR applications for 2 weeks now without any issues

Doesn't fit Tripac.
DB used to sell alternators that fit the tripac. The last one I bought in September doesn't. The casing has a higher ridge right below the bolt hole. One of the bolts that holds the case has also been moved. This makes it impossible to move the alternator in far enough to bolt to the adjustment bracket. The alternator is also almost touching the case of the tripac.Returning this alternator.

Bracket needs to be modified.
Had to extend the hole on the adjusting bracket, would not let me put enough tension on the belt with out modifying something. I chose to modify the bracket, charging right at 14.3v so far. Only ran it to test it. We'll see with time.Update: was having trouble with overcharging, realized I need the 120a that they make for the tripacks, disconnected the 2 (voltage sensing) white wires that go to the alt. Now charging at 14.6v-14.8v. a little high but everything works as it should. No codes from disconnecting the wires.
