Security Bar for Sliding Glass Doors

We have many of these on a number of sliding glass doors. They are not as heavy duty as some other models but we also have a heavy duty model that goes from the house to our outdoor room. These do the job and while nothing iof this sort is foolproof, they're pretty strong and sturdy. Would recommend. Yes, sliding glass doors can be gotten into if someone wants to work hard and long enough, but these are a great deterrent.

My youngest is 3 and has opened our front door and sliding glass door and tried sneaking out. The front door was an easy fix but I didn’t want anything that I had to screw into the sliding glass door. This was perfect. I’ve had this for a couple weeks now. During the day, I do keep it up high and for someone who’s only 5’2” there was a bit of a learning curve. Once this is locked, If you try and shimmy it around, it will fall on your head. But once it’s in place properly and locked none of my kids can open the door, and it doesn’t fall down when they try. We’ve tested it.At night, I have used it down low. For me it is easier to get it positioned and locked but being down low does make me worried that the kids will try and figure it out. It does work both ways.For me, this has given me one less thing to worry about. It’s been easy to use and done it’s job. I definitely would recommend this.

You have to find the right way to adjust it for it to work. It may take a few tries to get it right; otherwise, the sliding door would still open. Once it is positioned correctly, it does what is supposed to do.

Works good for the price paid. Can jiggle the door and get it to fall but for additional peace of mind it works.

The lock on my sliding door was broken. I researched several items and selected this one. On mines, the adjustment did not work, however I have tested it and it does stop my door from opening wide enough for a person or an arm (unless it is a very long arm). I have other security, but this works well for me.

It doesn't tighten once extended like I hoped but it gets the job done.
