Well made and works great... but not a tool for the timid.
I bought this tool after watching a Youtube video by the "Crazy Russian Dad" showing how he used to open cans back in his old country. I purchased this tool for educational purposes to show my Scout how to use can openers of many different styles and configurations. One never knows where one will be on a trip, and what tools or utensils might be available. This tool is sharp, and easily punctures cans, but takes a bit of learning for those used to the more modern style of can opener. To me this one is appealing as there is a level of difficulty and danger inherent in its operation. It also takes a bit of manual dexterity. It is not a tool for the careless or clumsy. I also like that it also functions a a cork screw, is inexpensive, and is made of stainless steel. It is VERY easy to keep clean. Plus there are no moving parts, simplicity at its best.

A good old fashion can opener
I purposefully looked for an old fashioned can opener, after being tiered of having the wheels spin without opening the cans for the rotary version. It gets getting used to, and starting the puncture takes some finesse, but one it’s in, it cuts. The edges are jagged so you have to be careful, but it gets the job done. If I can figure out how to start the puncture in a safe and non erratic way, it would be awesome. I do wrap a cloth on the handle because the edges are angular and very utilitarian, which is why I got it to begin with. No batteries, no moving parts to malfunction, no plugs or cords. Transportable. The blade is sharp, so caution is needed as with all sharp objects. The price was reasonable so if it didn’t work I didn’t feel like I spent a lot…but it worked just as I expected. 4 stars not five only because of the comfort of the handle, but not a deal breaker. I am glad I was able to find it!

Can opener
Great little gadget. My last can opener of 5 years died on me so I ordered this as a replacement. It does look a little on the flimsy side but don't let that fool you. For the price you can't beat it. Works great! Super sharp and opens clean. 10/10

Waste of Money
As others have noted, it's very poorly made. I bought it on sale as a portable solution while traveling. I have health problems that make using manual can openers difficult. That said, even healthy people would have problems with this one.The blade isn't actually a blade. It's a piece of metal that's been shaped without a point or single edge. Once the opener secures to the can, this "blade" does puncture the can, but it struggles to cut through the metal. I had to wear gloves to get a good grip. Even with the initial use, it was a struggle. Over time, it would easily and increasingly fall or pop off during the handle turning process. If the can has any dents or irregularities, it can't cut at all even with a good grip. I bought it in Nov. 2022 and it stopped working almost entirely by 2023. Such a waste of metal and money.

Gets the job done, eventually.
It was easier to use than many are, and I like the steel construction, but it just doesn't seem very effective. The lid comes off all jagged and sometimes gets stuck in the can. The teeth slip, so you can be turning it, but nothing happens.I got a face full of enchilada sauce popping the lid out after it got lodged in the can, so that was less than fun.I got the one with the can tapper, so maybe the other variations are better.Ultimately, I'm pretty disappointed. The only reason I'm giving it as good a rating as I am is because it was cheap and seems sturdy.
