I've used it only for a couple of days, but so far it works right out of the box. I'm in a basement with concrete walls and the closest access point is across the hall, in another room. Signal was originally one bar, at most two. With this antenna dongle it's almost full power. I've used other TP-link products and they usually work as advertised. I simply plugged the antenna to a USB A port on my laptop and I didn't have to do any setup. My connection and the apps I use are working at normal speed and they are really stable - no lag or timeouts due to poor signal strength anymore. I'll do an update after a couple of months using it.

Super simple setup process. Works very well. We have an old house with plaster walls and even upstairs from the router it still gets a good connection. Super portable. If you need a USB wifi stick, pick this one up. It's price is cheap but it's a quality product for sure!

Works great, worked instantly upon plugging it in to my pc. Allowed my PC to get onto the wifi to reach the wifi printer with ease.

Antenna helps with signal quality. Speed is decent for a lower cost USB dongle.

I didn't realize that I could bring my speed up from 30 mbps to 200 mbps, but this is exactly what happened.

Wow, this made a huge difference. The original stubby adapter gave us at best 1 Mbps due to distance from router, this adapter having antenna gave us 30+ Mbps reliably.

We have a large house with an interesting WiFi set up... The router is in the basement and the main computers are usually two floors above. We also have multiple Sonos speakers and Wyze cams. And with this product we finally have a system where everything seems to work. Earlier I set up a Tenda cube mesh system for the Sonos & Wyze, the computers were sluggish and inconsistent on the mesh network, so... I tried this new adaptor on my upstairs desktop and the difference absolutely shocked me...Good tips I gleamed from other reviews, however: Don't mess with the CD if you can avoid it. Instead go to the TP Link website and download the driver directly from there. Then go into your control panel, disable your #1 WiFi adaptor and enable the new TP (#2) adaptor. Once I did that I stopped using the mesh system upstairs (which still had the same sluggish speed, even with the TP adaptor) and connected DIRECTLY to the basement router. Before using this adaptor I could barely connect with our main router in the basement from upstairs, and the speeds were literally in the single digits. Afterwards? Both the upload and download speeds on my PC went to about 200 mbps! That's literally an increase of thousands of percent, which like I said is pretty amazing for a one time cost of $20.Just ordered one for my wife's Macbook Pro, and hoping/expecting she gets the same results. The moral of our story? The mesh system is great for some things - music, security, thermostat, etc. - but not for others. These cheap little devices seem to enable computers to efficiently tap into routers that are multiple floors away, which is a godsend (lower case g) in these over-complicated, high-tech times.
