Q: What is the space between the nounting bolts? I want to replace an old pastic reel, which has spacing 14" on center between bolts.

The mounting holes are 16" on-center horizontally, and 13 1/2" on-center vertically. The are really good hose reels, and maybe you can bolt a couple of 18" 2x4 on your 14" spacings and bolt the reel into the 2x4's.

Q: Does this have metal fittings (the part that you attach the hose to), or is it cheap plastic?

YES, It has Metal fittings. They are Brass, non-corrosive and work well. The older model had metal fittings made from steel that had problems, but not the new ones.

Q: How do you stop it from leaking?

Q: Has anyone tried a 100' length of 3/4" hose? I'm wondering if that length would fit on the spool given the larger diameter?

I have 100' feet of 3/4" on it. No problems.
