I’m a convert - wish I’d known sooner !!
This product is excellent value for the money. I’m new to using a straight edge razor and I have to say it is easy to pick up (5 minutes after watching a youtube video - don’t be scared! Ignore all the nay sayers about you slashing yourself). There are simple rules : Always keep the blade angled off your skin at around 30 degrees, always keep the blade perpendicular to the direction of travel and don’t force (think dragging vs forcing). If the edge perpendicular to the direction of travel you will slash (think about it!).From a product standpoint, it is a well made handle and the blades are plenty sharp! The handle takes a little bit to figure out from a blade replacement standpoint but there’s plenty of youtube videos to sort you out. The handle is comfortable, ergonomic and a good weight. I would like the handle to be a bit longer but that’s just me, not the product. I used regular shaving foam and the shave is really close, like baby skin close! So much better than the disposable stuff and you’re not filling in landfills with plastic! Our fore-bearers got this right!! And what’s not manly about being able to use a single blade to shave !! Don’t tell the ladies but these shavers/razors would probably be good for leg hairs too !!! 😉

There is a little wiggle
The blades are amazing and the razor is nice. The razor has a nice weight to it, but the metal did come with two small nicks that weren't meant to be there. The metal of the razor is also a bit on the rough side, but not in any way that would cause injury to the user, just in a way that it feels a tiny bit uncomfortable if you prefer a different feel. The blade does have a minor wiggle room, but it is overall unnoticeable during use. I overall really like the usability and durability of the razor and its blades. It gave me a nice shave with no injury and I would definitely purchase again in the event that I lose the one that I already have. The Japanese blades are extremely sharp and give an overall smooth shaving feel that has yet to catch on any of my hairs when shaving.

First time using a straight razor
A little embarrassed, over 50 years old and I’ve never used a straight razor ever. Been finding all kinds of shaving soaps and other shaving stuff online lately and wanted to give this a try.I’ve been using their brand pomades for a while, so it was safe to say that the company‘s been around for a little while. The razor and blades came in the nice little box, which would make a great gift for someone. Comes with instructions in case you’ve never used a straight razor before… I had a little bit of an issue reading the print, even with reading glasses.Inserting the single use razors was pretty easy, took me a little bit to figure out how to get them out but with more use it’s becoming easier.Found instructions online on how to hold a straight razor, I was very shaky the very first time, but didn’t cut myself.I was a little nervous about the price being so low but to my surprise it seems a very, very nice quality razor, doesn’t feel cheap in any way.I tried using the single use blades a second time, and the shave was not as good so definitely one shave per razor depending on your facial hair.Im thinking about buying one for my brother as a gift and then another one for my self to keep in my gym bag.The only thing I would change is maybe the printed instructions that would be a little bit easier to read for us older chaps.

Nice Packaging, Poor Execution
This is the first time I write a review, but I had never been disappointed with something I bought—until now. While the packaging is impeccable and the experience starts off well, once you take out the razor—which has a nice weight and a handle that feels solid—the first thing I thought was, "Did I buy this used?" Some corners were dented, and it wasn’t clean or shiny like you’d expect stainless steel to look before its first use.The part where the blade goes has a kind of bridge that holds the blade between the two steel pieces, but without much effort, that piece just fell off. It's the part that’s supposed to hold everything together, and it's quite weak. Even the golden screw wasn’t properly in place.I understand it’s a relatively inexpensive product, but you have everything needed to make it a great one—those small details make all the difference.

Great shavette AND YOU CAN USE NORMAL BLADES
This is what I learned on. Though I'm sure it was obvious to many, I didn't realize that the smaller blades it takes are literally just half of normal double-sided razors. Just snap it in half lengthwise or cut it if you've got good scissors and boom, you don't need to get special blades. It's a great little razor though THERE IS A LEARNING CURVE. I cut myself a good few times the first month or so but now all is good. You can get real close too so I don't have to go over twice like I did with a safety razor. My only complaint is that the "blade" portion (the holder for the actual blade) is a bit off center now starting from the pin. But considering the price it's fine. Just be careful closing it and you'll be good

Rusts easily
I love the weight of the product, it helps a lot with the shave. Ive had similar razors and have always left the on a stand, upright. This is the first time a razor has rusted on me. It had not even been 2 months of use and now im afraid to continue using it. I always dry it after use but water will still remain in between. Its very impractical to have to dismantle the razor every single time after use. Plus, some areas that rusted cannot be spread apart.
