The features are the same on both options. We offer both options to accommodate 2-wire and 3-wire setups

It will depend on the total wattage/voltage of the heating units. 3328W @ 208VAC, 3840W @ 240VAC, 1920W @ 120VAC

Q: Is this thermostat seriously $300+ ? Does it connects to the KB 2407 eco heater?

At this time that is the current price of the thermostat. It will not connect to the KB ECO2S series heaters. If you would like to use a wall mounted thermostat with your heater you would need the KB ECO2S+ series (KB2407-1-ECO2S-PLUS) and a low voltage 24V thermostat such as our EP-3 or a NEST
