Installed easily and I was able to copy my OS from the SD to the M.2 drive. No power issues using an official RPi wall wart and driving the M.2 off the USB buss. While the assembly doesn't fit back in the case, it sits in the bottom part of the case and a rubber band holds it together.Boot time went from a few minutes on the SD to about 30 seconds with the SDD.I haven't noticed any issues with WiFi interference mentioned in other reviews, but I must admit that the unshielded USB connector looks a bit sketchy. I've run some 8266s in WiFi right next to it without issues.If I find the need to speed up and/or expand the storage on my other Pis, I wouldn't hesitate. total cost for this and the M.2 was under $50.Edit 4/6/23 - I've noticed that although the boot order is set to USB then SD, if the SD is bootable, it sometimes boots to the SD even though the USB-SSD is bootable and present. If I remove the bootable SD or replace it with a non-bootable one, it always boots from the SSD, which is somewhat unfortunate because I like having the backup boot source in the event the SSD gets corrupted. I suspect that the USB SSD just isn't ready sometimes when it gets to that point in the boot process.

I have a couple of these and have had no problems (other than the bright blue flashing LED - not really a problem, just annoying). I've had a number of occasions where SD cards die after a while because of read/write cycles in an active system. But, this hopefully will solve that problem and boost speed as well. I also have a couple Argon cases with the M.2 board, I like this solution much better.I noticed a few reviews that mentioned the unshielded USB3 and problems with 2.4 ghz wifi. I also have a LoRa radio next to this in one usage, not had a problem with wifi or interference with LoRa.

It's mounted on a Pi 4 and has good performance.

Also ruins keyboard dongles and so on - anything 2.4 gig is fail with any poorly shielded usb3 device, which this very much is - worst I've seen.Having said that, it works magnificently with a gumstick drive to make a pi4 usable as a daily driver (if you also get an ice tower cooler and overclock the pi).Buy a USB2 hub and perhaps a short extension cord for it and put any 2.4 gig usb stuff on that a few feet from this - that works well here, and my wifi access point has 5 gigs, so I use that. I did RF engineering before I retired and tried various shielding tricks on this to no avail - it leaks in all directions from every pore, it seems. Not much you could do about leakage out the top directly into the pi's wifi without compromising cooling and letting it burn up.

I was able to use this to install an M.2 SATA drive for my Pi 4, in combination with GeeekPi low profile Raspberry Pi 4 Fan. With my Pi 4 configured to boot up from an M.2 SATA drive and the low profile fan, I'm able to overclock Pi 4 to 2.2GHz and run some numerical code for 30 minutes to ensure this configuration is stable. The higher 2.2GHz CPU speed and M.2 SATA drive makes running on Ubuntu or Ubuntu-MATE acceptable. Although I do wish for a Pi 5 soon with ARM Cortex A-75 cores.

I bought two of these to build a compact rpi server with fast(ish) storage. They've both caused problems in several ways. First, the PMIC draws is extremely inefficient and draws nearly 1+ amps, much more than any other SATA controller I've used. It's not only wasteful but causes the rpi to run very hot. Second, the controller itself seems to be somewhat unreliable. I've had several issues with corruption on both units I purchased. Find another solution.
