Vitamin D deficiency is a serious condition and I've leanred through my use of many prescriptions and this product that the deficiency, and treatment of the deficiency, can wreak havoc on your body. Simple blood draws can determine levels prior to starting this medicine, and during its use. The package contains many warnings about the side effects of taking this medicine. Please use under doctor's care only. ********* That's my PSA for this product. Now to the real review:I have nothing but positives to say for this product. I have a sever, rare form of autoimmune disorder and no longer make viatmin D in my skin. This is farily common for autoimmune disorders. I have been to some of the best medical facilities in the country, including spending a week at the Mayo Clinic trying to figure out what to do. My vitamin D levels were at a 6 when we first started trying to treat the deficciency. After 3 different prescriptions and treatment terms for the vitamin D deficiency, spread over 10 months, my numbers increased only to 19, and would go back down after 1 week without meds. My rheumatologist suggested we stop all of the presciptions and try Replesta, as it is an edible nutritional food, and he has had good results with it. After 7 weeks, my levels are now at 31!!!! This is HUGE. My specialists attribute this to 2 things: 1) Replesta contains vitamin D3, which more closely resembles the vitamin D that is created naturally in your skin. Vitamin D2, while good, is a simulated product that provides vitamin D that is produced elsewhere in the body. So if vitamin D is no longer being made through your skin, the D3 may be more effective, as in my case. 2) The way in which this wafer absorbs is different. If you have problems absorbing vitamins and nutrients, this one doesn't need to go through your intestine or stomach because it's chewed.I don't know if my levels will drop once I decrease the dosage of Replesta. That is yet to be seen. However, using this product has already been a life saver for me, literally. After 2 weeks of tablets, I was able to stay awake in the evenings after work to spend time with my kids. Normally I would have a migraine and be so exhausted that I'd physically be sick. I don't feel 100% better yet, even after vitamin D levels rising so dramatically. However, vitamin D, even with higher levels, takes a while to really work into your marrow. That can take months. So I will continue to take Replesta as ordered by my doctor, and have nothing but high hopes.

I am highly Vit D deficient. My Rheumatologist has me taking 50k units once a week and my levels have dramatically increased using Replesta. Prior to using Replesta I was taking an otc Vit D supplement daily for several months and it wasn't making a dent in my numbers but after 4 weeks on Replesta I gained 23 points! My deficiency is related to an auto immune disorder so I will be on Replesta for life.The taste isn't too bad, it's chalky with a bit of orange flavor. I usually chew the wafer then wash it down with some water. I was worried about side effects when I first started taking it and only suffered insomnia the first two doses. After the second dose I noticed a dramatic increase in energy and I began sleeping soundly. I have only missed two doses due to reasons beyond my control and by the end of the week I can tell my body misses the supplement.You can purchase Replesta over the counter without a prescription at any local pharmacy. I go to Walgreens but they don't stock it and when they ordered it for me it was more expensive than Amazon so i've purchased in bulk and will continue to purchase through Amazon. All packages had a long expiration date and were of the same quality of what I got through Walgreens, the only difference was the price. You get four wafers in a box so one box lasts me a month which isn't too bad price wise.As always, Amazon Prime gets what I need here quickly and the Replesta was no exception. It arrived on time and was packaged well. This Vit D supplement has made a world of difference in my life and has brought me back to a place of good health.

My son just finished 8 weeks of Replesta 50,000. He tested very low , the blood level was at 16. His pediatrician prescribed it but he is also allergic to gelatin [bovine&Porcine] with most vitamin D ingredients do have. After a search online, I reached out to this company by email and phone, they immediately reassured me it was free of it. After finishing 8 weeks, he started today the maintenance dose of 14,000. I am very hopeful that his level goes up. He stopped complaining of being extremely tired even his mood is more cheerful. Also, having extreme pain in his feet and a very interesting observation is his asthma is under control. He didn't need to use his advair or proAir inhaler the past 4 weeks in Orlando. His acid reflux gone. I will update in September after his blood test to check his level but I'm planning to keep him on the Replesta maintenance if all his symptoms are under control Hopefully!

Convenient chewable tablets. No bad taste.

These tablets are amazing. If your doctor recommends these it is a great way to feel good fast. They are high dosage so if you are very low on D and need to get in the good range fast I reccomend these. I break them apart easily if I don't need the highest dose. They are very tasty (in my opinion) and I actually look forward to taking them once a week. I felt a difference in my overall well being within an hour of taking this supplement.
