This was an early novel by Mario Puzo, published under a pseudonym. It read very easily but was not up to his later work. You can, though, see the future writer of The Fortunate Pilgrim and The Godfather in this novel

I wat to read all of Mario Puzo's Books.

It has all of the elements. It's a revenge story, it's non-linear, there are nazis, gangsters, an antagonist that was left for dead ( with a plate in his skull ), and a love story involving a prostitute.

We all know the Godfather, but this is a story that should not be overlooked by the great Puzo. A treasure to hold.

My husband loves this author! Mario puzo is one of the best authors who writes about "Mob related" stories. He has written a number of book and short stories and is known for the famous story the Godfather. Excellent read.

Plot was a tired story of vengeance with antagonists coming out of nowhere only to vanish in a simple-minded way. Story lacked any of the charm of The Godfather.

This was a very well written novel, by the late Mario Puzo. His talent is sorely missed.This went through numerous possible ways of getting revenge upon people. I can't say more than that without spoiling the story.
