Smell like gasoline
These smell awful! I wanted a pleasant smelling fire starter and these smell like gasoline. Also, the label was on the jar sideways, like it was just slapped on with no care taken. If you’re giving this as a gift, the crooked label looks awful and these stink. Don’t waste the money.

Not what we expected at all / Did not work very well
Wax cups were very small, not what we expected. did not work well either.

Very small but work very well. These are much better than the large fire starters sold at hardware stores. Nice packaging, pleasant smell.

Great for starting stuborn wet wood
I bought these for my wife to be able to start a fire quickly with out me home. They light up very easy and burn fairly slowly. I do not smell any odor from them that resembles gasoline. I find it best to set them on a piece of wood and then build a "stove" type fire (2-logs one way and 2-logs the other way) with a little bit if gaps over the top of one of these little gems and let the air and the fire due the work by shutting the doors and let it get nice and hot before you add any more wood.
