No more putting letters in our mouths!

My daughter is 5 years old. She has autism and is nonverbal, but academically, she’s on a 1st grade level. She loves to spell words, both independently and when prompted. These Learning Resources letters are large and incredibly sturdy. These are too large for little mouths which is a good thing if your child mouths or chews objects. We use a small baking sheet to practice spelling but these would also be good on a refrigerator or magnetic board. We bought more lowercase letters, then uppercase and the numbers. We’ve bought some magnetic letters in the past, but we donated them once we found these... they are the highest quality set! I highly recommend for play, homeschool, classroom or therapy! Very pleased!

They’re weak and that’s a GOOD thing!

A lot of people complained that the magnets aren’t strong enough to hold stuff on the fridge, and they’re right - it’s not. The thing is, they’re supposed to be weak in case your idiot kid (or my idiot kid) eats a magnet on accident. They’re VERY secured into the backs of the letters, so I don’t think it’s a huge concern, but at least I know it won’t rip through her intestines if she does chow one down. I am personally very happy. They are helping me to teach the alphabet and giving her something to play with while I cook. Mission accomplished. If you want something to hold pictures on your fridge, keep shopping.

Keeps my 11 month old entertained

My 11 month old liked to play with my refrigerator magnets, but some were too hard for him to remove and others were not safe for him to play with. I remembered that my mother bought us alphabet magnets for our refrigerator when we were little and how much fun we had leaving messages for each other. My son is still quite young and obviously can't read, so I wanted a toy that would grow with him and letters were large enough that couldn't be swallowed. These letter magnets really are jumbo! Of course, he's attempted to chew on them a few times, but he can't fit them wholly in his mouth. These keep him occupied for a good 20 mins before he becomes preoccupied with something else (hey, this is a lot for a toddler!). I agree with another reviewer that the magnets in the back *could* come out - they simply are glued into a slot in the back - but none of the magnets have been dislodged yet in any of the letters yet in spite of my son dropping them on the floor and stepping on them. I'm not overly concerned about this, as my son is never allowed to play in the kitchen without someone around to watch him anyway. I do note that generally, the magnets are strong enough, but some of the larger letters will slide with little provocation. I have a bottom-mounted refrigerator (i.e., freezer drawer is on the bottom), and this is where the letter magnets are stuck so my son can reach them. I don't get into the freezer as much as the refrigerator. If you stuck the magnets on a door that is constantly slammed, I'm not sure that some of the letters wouldn't slide or fall off. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

Great to pair with uppercase version

Important to introduce lowercase letters since they appear when you're reading more than uppercase. I made sure my granddaughter had both upper and lowercase so she could learn them in 26pairs instead of having to learn 52 different symbols

These are the ones!

I spent way too much time trying to find the "just right" alphabet letters for my 2-year-old. I wanted sturdy, larger than average, and bright colored. These are the ones! We play lots of letter recognition games, like "letter hide and seek" and I needed these to be spotted from across the room if need be. They are sturdy and withstand being thrown and dumped out of their container repeatedly. Most of all, I love the font that is used, it's modern and clean and actually looks like how we would write the letters.

Great distraction

The reason I purchased these was they were oversized so I didn't have to worry about my toddler trying to eat the letters while I was cooking in the kitchen looking away for a second these litters are exactly what we needed rarely you will find a magnetic strip that's a little finicky but overall they are great quality and a great addition to my kitchen

The magnets--a key component of MAGNETIC LETTERS--could be better

We have the Rubabu magnetic capital letters on the fridge and I decided my daughter needed some lower case letters, too. (The Rubabu lower case ones aren't magnetic unfortunately.) After spending entirely too much time researching magnetic letters I wound up with these. They're okay and large enough for little hands. My biggest issue is that the magnets are so small that they aren't as good as they could be. Our 'f', for instance, won't stay upright and turns sideways. When you get magnetic letters, especially from such a reputable brand, you expect that the key component--aka the Magnet--would work properly.
