Should have bought one years ago.
This fit my Rottweiler very well. Simply following the measuring guide and pick the size that fits your dog.I obviously don't know first hand how it feels to wear, but my dog didn't seem to mind at all, so I assume it's comfortable enough. He doesn't paw at it or rub his face against stuff to try to get it off.The cage is metal so it's nice and secure. The padded bridge seems to provide enough cushion to make it bearable for the hour or so to go to the vet. The leather straps are adjustable so you can tweak it to fit your dog. The R1 fit my Rottweiler well enough that he can still open his mouth to drink, pant, and even take a small treat. To be clear, my dog isn't mean. I bought this for vet visits to keep everyone safe (including my dog). Vet visits are stressful, which could cause a good dog to lash out. I previously had a German Shepard, and vet visits were always tense. She wasn't mean either so we never bought a muzzle. I decided to buy a muzzle for my Rottie, just to make visits easier. My vet said she appreciated the muzzle, and the whole visit seemed much more relaxed. So much so that my dog didn't even so much as growl during the entire exam. I should have bought one for my Shepard but hind sight is 20/20. This was worth every penny.

Good
I got this for my 5 year old female Rottweiler as she can be dog aggressive around dogs she has never met before. I only use this when I am walking her in Queens when I visit my father as the last thing I need is someone trying to flip out even after I have told them she does not get along with other dogs. I only gave this 4 stars because she is definitely a medium Rottie, but the muzzle is still a bit large. However, it is till workable for the purpose. She is never off leash in public, so I have complete control over her, but it's just a precaution more for my and her security than for other dogs/owners. I love her to death and she is a beautiful and loving dog, she just got a bad start in life in her previous home and is very wary of strangers, dog and human alike.

Try the smaller size first
So original I got the large rottie one (even though the measurements were correct) the padding was pushing into my 1 yro eyes. The medium fits ok not perfect but I guess even though the measurements are close not every dogs muzzle is the same. I did try to contact the seller to see if it was a defect but even after going to their site I couldn’t find the info I was looking for

Perfect for a foster "with issues".
I have 6 Rottweilers of my own and have never felt the need for a muzzle, until now. I took in an older rottweiler mix as a foster. He came to me to recover from a double cherry eye surgery, double rear dew claw removal, and a neuter. The vet sent him home with a nylon muzzle, a number of antibiotics and ointments, and wishes of "good luck." I figured that I have always had great luck with medical fosters and luck wasn't necessary. Boy, was I wrong on this one. There was no way to apply eye ointment without losing fingers. Using the poorly fit nylon muzzle just agitated him and made the whole situation worse. The day came when I was supposed to remove his leg bandages, but his trust issues and "bite before thinking" mindset made it impossible to accomplish. I broke down, not really wanting to spend this much money on a foster dog. I took measurements from one of my rotties with a similar head and muzzle size and made the purchase. I am very glad that I did. After I used one of my rotties as a fitting model to get the straps close, I put the muzzle on the foster. He really didn't fight the muzzle. He still snapped at me when I applied the ointment, but I was safe from his bite. When I went to remove the bandages, he was also very aggressive. The basket muzzle is very well made, and stayed in place, offering me the confidence and protection to remove the bandages and look at his stitches without incident. I am now very happy that I spent the money on this well made muzzle. I now have it for future situations and use.

do not buy from this seller!!!
the sizing is completely off. for instance they say it is for a Rottweiler and in reality it is small enough to fit my 50lb Catahoula with a long skinny snout. I requested to exchange for a bigger size and they said they were sorry but it was my fault. Poor sizing info and poor customer service.

Used for my 85lb male pitbull
I use this mask for my 85lb male pitbull who has decided he hates one particular dog in our home. He wears the mask any time he is out of his kennel (whenever we are home) and he gets to take it off about an hour before bedtime. Total time in the mask per day is probably around 8ish hours. We previously tried using first a mesh muzzle (which prevents him from drinking, panting, and enjoying his life. We did not like it because it was not practical for long term use. Second we used a hard rubber basket muzzle. This worked for a few days until it began to rub his nose (rubbed the fur off then began to give him blisters). My second problem with a rubber mask is it has nylon straps that his partners in crime chewed off him while in the back yard playing. This brings me to the Dean and Tyler wire Basket Muzzle. This muzzle is the best he has ever had. The flap truly does prevent his blisters. The straps are made of a much stronger fo-leather. The mask adjusted in EVERY way possible and has strong metal grommets to keep everything in place. The muzzle does not get too hot (can and does get too cold) but if it is too cold for the muzzle he isnt outside long anyways. I highly recommend this mask to anyone with the same issue. MY ONLY CAUTION.. Do not use the recommended sizes! This one says large rottweiler like I said it fits my pitbull great. The only size that says pitbull wouldn't even fit his face at all. Be prepared to have to return it for a different sizes to find the one you need for your lovable lug.

Dean and Tyler Muzzle - Medium Rottweiler
Bought this for my male American Bulldog. He is a very large dog with aggressive tendencies towards other male dogs. Use this on my bike rides. It is easy to put on and take off in a moment. He now associates with a positive experience because whenever I get it out he knows that we are going out for a ride. It does not secure as well as I thought it would but for what I am using it for it is well worth every penny. Would buy again.
