Citronella Scented Home Fragrance, Freesia and Lily of the Valley With Pure Java Citronella Oil - Schedule Using App With Aera Smart 2.0 Diffusers - State Of The Art Air Freshener Technology

This is really disappointing, as some of the other reviewers have pointed out, the smell is so faint and almost impossible to notice. I live in a 900 square foot studio, I have this thing on maximum intensity and its only noticeable from about 3-4 feet radius. I've purchased the "Zephyr" scent, hoping maybe different ones are more intense. Prolitec really needs to create some sort of scent tester, these are too expensive for trial and error.

 Update 11/27/19: Changing/lowering my rating to 1 star.Something has changed in the past year with these units - they are louder with a very noticeable fan buzzing sound. The fragrance Capsules are different too - same great scent quality, but the little clear window is gone and they don’t last as long at the same settings.Extremely disappointed in the degradation of the quality of the product being sold. Had I known they were going to make changes, I would not have invested $800 in these units I purchased 2 more units in March because I had liked my original units so much. but the new ones were loud and buzzy right out of the box.The customer service is still great - They exchanged all of my units for no charge - but the product isn’t what it used to be and sadly the replacements are just as loud as the ones I returned. The scents are still lovely while they last, but the increased noise and the shorter capsule duration mean these will be tossed in the trash or sold at my next yard sale.Precious post-I’ve had my Aera smart diffuser for several months and have tried Citrus, Indigo, White Tea, and Lavender scents. All have freshened my home beautifully without being overpowering. The Lavender scent is by far my favorite and the most noticeable throughout my home. I own a 3400 square foot 2 story home with an open layout and split floor plan. I have 2 of the diffusers and have them placed in the master suite as well as the greatroom/kitchen/foyer. The lavender scent is a pure, clean, lavender smell - in my opinion a genuine replication of what is achieved with dried lavender blooms. What I love most about the Aera diffuser is that the scent isn’t what you notice - what you notice is the home smelling wonderful and fresh with little bursts of scent as you move throughout the space. This device doesn’t work like a candle or a plug-in - you aren’t going to be overwhelmed by the fragrance - instead what you will notice is a freshness and a mood - relaxing, energizing, etc. - just depends on the blend chosen. Lavender gives me the same experience in my home as being outdoors in my cottage garden. Love it - definitely need to try several different scents to find your home signature - but the exchange policy is wonderful if you get something that doesn’t work for you. Excellent customer service as well. So glad I found this product.

I was hesitant to order this due to the reviews stating it isn't very strong. I opened the plastic wrapping it comes in and I could instantly smell it, even with both plugs still in the capsule. I am a soap maker, I go through A LOT of diff fragrances, this one is very upscale....I wish I could get my hands on this quality for my soaps. I'm not sure why some people are having a difficult time with this product. I have 2 Aera diffusers and each fragrance is able to scent 2 rooms. I will also add that I do NOT have an overly sensitive sense of smell. Maybe there are competing odors that's canceling out the Aera, drafts or maybe some people are forgetting to remove both plugs from the capsule. I also have their AirQ machine which was discontinued and I can no longer buy capsules for....($200 paper weight?) I wish they had made these capsules compatible with the old machine.

Re: CitrusThese scents from Aera vary in intensity. The citrus was recommended by their own advertising for pet odors. I have it in the room with the cat box. The scent is nice but weak -- I have to have it set higher than other scents I've tried which means it will run out sooner. Zephyr is also a soft scent and seems to work well in that area. Also tried Eucalyptus and it was awful -- felt like I couldn't breathe. At $50 a pop it's hard to experiment.Update Dec 2019: White Tea scent is great, soft but effective. LOVE Snowfall - Smells like crisp winter day somewhere near evergreens, but nothing "piney" about it, just wintery fresh. Very difficult to explain, but really nice for the holidays.

I ordered a scent card (free) from Aera before buying this because the capsules are too spendy for experimenting. What I like is that the scent isn’t “candle” like. It is light and fresh (a little green, clean and slightly floral) and reminds me of a fancy hotel lobby. I have vaulted 24 foot ceilings in my family room and an open floor plan and with one Aera cranked to 10 this scent is detectable on my second floor. Pay attention to the directions about placement of the Aera device though (use a match to figure out where the air flow will pull into the room). It makes a difference to the scent’s ability to permeate the space.

Update: seems the cartridges arent lasting as long anymore. Not sure what happened. Even when ordering thru Aera. May hv to shelve this because it’s getting too expensive to replace them. Dropping my rating fm a 5 star to a 3 bevause of this. But they smell amazing espec Vibrance. 😭My orig review: Ok this is by far my fave Aera scent. If you like the fresh green smells of freshly shampoo’d hair or clean fresh soapy scents you will love this scent. The price however... I will say mine have lasted about a month on high output. As for the other scents I’ve tried, here is my opinion: Moondance—not a fan. Smelled too heavy and men’s cologne-ish for me. Felt like I could still smell it in my hair and nostrils when I left the house, much like I dislike with heavy vanilla type candles; Curiosity—nice but very floral and not for me. I like the green smelling florals but this wasn’t green; Citrus—oddly not very citrusy and ok imo but not a winner to me; Linen—another great one in my book. Clean and fresh. Clearly I like fresh scents so to each his/her own, but that’s my opinion to help others with trying to figure out the right scent for them.As for the Aera, got the basic and loved it so much I saved and got another one. I have a bird and dogs and they have had no issues with them. Aera, PLEASE drop the price on refills though.
