This is a great fitting sturdy work boot. The fit and quality of the leather is very sturdy. There are some visual quality problems but they will not effect the boot. One of my soles was cut very close to the welt on one boot and each boot has a couple of stitches that are too far away from the edge of the leather. These are not meant to be fashion boots so I did not care. The only down side is the tongue has no padding so it can bunch up a little and the laces can dig into your foot. I'm finding that as I break them in, the tongue folds a little flatter so the creases don't bother me as much and the boot is conforming to my foot more so I don't have to tighten the laces as much each time to lock my foot in. These are quickly becoming my most comfortable pair of shoes. The soles bottoms are very easy to clean mud off of and have ok traction on slippery surfaces but don't wear them in snowy/icy conditions as they are then very slippery due to the shallow wide tread blocks.Great boots, buy a pair!

Bought as a boot for everyday wear: As good as fashion wear.Good for walking (9 + miles), warm, really comfortable, not totally waterproof but general rain and puddles no problem, easy to clean, easy to lace up. Also very good as motorcycle boots. Excellent price and speedy delivery. Only downside is that they are a little heavy. Previous pair were similar style Justins, equally good but too long a wait (3 months) for delivery.

My husband has struggled finding quality work boots; these are by far the best boots we have found as of yet. No break-in period, extremely comfortable on the first wear, durable (he's rough on his boots!), made in USA and they're beautiful!

I am giving it three stars because I really like the boots but they fit too small in the width. I ordered an 11.5D and there was a bit of discrepancy between the width from the left to right boot. The left boot fit just like it should and the right boot fit well in the length. However, the right boot was to narrow and I could feel my little toe "hanging off" the side of the boot. I initially thought it might be differences in my foot but upon further inspection of the actual boot I found that there was enough discrepancy between the actual measurements of the boots, when compared, to account for the bad fit. Maybe this is a normal range of tolerance in manufacturing and I really like Thorogood boots but I am really disappointed this go round. Bad part is, I initially thought the lack of comfort/fit may just be a break in issue and I wore the boots 3 times so I doubt I can get a refund. Lesson learned.
