Product you receive may not have the v-shaped notch or proper coverslips.
Depending on the store-front that is selling the hemocytomer, you may receive one that does not have the v-shaped notch, like in the picture of the product, to assist in pipetting the suspension into the counting chamber.Also, your coverslips may not be properly square, or of the proper thickness/mass to account for the surface tension of the suspension leading to an inaccurate count.All in all, I'm disappointed in myself in thinking that a $44 hemocytomer would be of the same quality as the one in the picture, but I took the risk of purchasing from a new store.

For the price it is not worth it. Better options out there and $100 is too expensive for this.

Best I've ever used!
This is just a great hemacytometer. The lines were nice and bright and very easy to view. Very satisfied. Will purchase again.
