Tried another aftermarket brand twice that said it was for my specific model, neither worked. This one worked on the first try so this is the one you need to buy for an ONAN HJAB 5500.

Bought this for my own in 5500 Grand Marquis gas generator. It got it running perfectly! I even bought a second one to keep with me just as a spare for how cheap these are.

It included everything needed to install on Onan 5500. 3 Gaskets, I used 2. Generator started right up and ran good. This seemed to solve my starting/stalling issues. Prior to carb replacement I tried fuel pump, fuel filters to no avail. Hopefully it continues to last. Pretty easy install thanks to YT videos. Fuel line nipple is very close .to air filter box which make fuel hose and clamp a little tricky to install

Was buying direct from Onan and paying a lot for very small parts plus over priced shipping! Paid $120.00 for a small part that attaches to the carb, and just knew that it would not solve the issue of not starting!Bought this complete carb it was easy to install and primed the system and the result was an immediate start and for a great price. Even the fuel filters on Amazon are a much better price.I will not buy direct from Onan again they over charge for the parts and charge outrageous shipping, they should be ashamed for ripping their customers off!

I've been struggling with our HGJAB not running for very long. When we bought the trailer it had old fuel in it. I drained the tank and cleaned the card very well. Still nothing would keep the generator running. I had already tested fuel pressure so I knew it was not the filter or pump. After days of taking the carb on and off I finally threw in the towel and ordered this carb. Came in today and I installed it. Ran the generator for 4 hours under load with no issues at all. Looking forward to using it for our 5 day camping trip that we leave on tomorrow.

Pulled old one out and this went right in 4 bolts super simple and fixed my generator shut down after 10 min even after I changed fuel pump and filters. Now purrs like a kitten and under load doesn't skip a beat.

I needed to replace my carburetor on my Onan Marquis Gold 5500 generator. I Utubed how to take the old one out and put the new one in. It works perfectly. The old carburetors usually have a fuel filter on them and the new ones don't but you don't need it. The generators usually have a fuel filter under your generator at the end of your fuel line to the generator. You only need the one fuel filter.

What a terribly cheap piece of garbage. Worked for not even 1 hour before dying. Took it apart and found that whatever idiot installed the components stripped and broke 2 of the jets. No wonder it's so cheap. Do not waste your money on this crap.

Generator would not start.Replaced old carb with this new one and generator fired right up.Starts better than it ever has.
