I wanted to love this as it is an excellent oven lock design. However, this requires an oven with a fully flat front surface.The lock adheres to the oven with a sticky 3M backing that rests flat on the oven (right above the door's opening). If the lock cannot lay perfectly flat (due to your oven design), this unfortunately will not work. Unfortunately I had to return it.

I use my ovens everyday. After reading many reviews that stated the adhesive wasn’t good enough or would fail with time I was worried, but ordered anyway. We’ve had these about five months and they are just fine. Definitely work well and were exactly what we needed with an open floor plan kitchen/living/dining room. If for whatever reason these lose their sticky (which looks unlikely) I will just attach them again with new 3M adhesive strips cut to size which can easily be purchased through Amazon (which is what we had to do with our magnetic baby locks when we moved houses.)

Just don't use self cleaning on your oven... it'll fall right off

Keeps the oven door lock bc my almost 2 year old loves to hang onto the door.

The media could not be loaded.  My 2 yr old son all of a sudden decided that he wanted to open the oven door and stand up on the inside of it... in order to reach things he shouldn't reach on our kitchen counter... like the rest of that chocolate bar Mommy just took away. 🙄Once I got over being impressed by his ingenuity, I quickly realized that this was a BIG safety hazard and we needed to childproof our kitchen. As soon as this cool little lock arrived, I read over the small included instruction guide and followed the suggested steps.Basically, those steps are:1) Pick an ideal spot just above where your oven door opens, preferably in the middle.2) Clean that area/remove any oil & grease, etc.3) Remove the 3M sticker backing and adhere the oven lock to your chosen location. Push down firmly and hold it down for at least 30 seconds to ensure it sticks.4) Leave it alone for 24-48 hrs to achieve optimal adhesion.Simple enough! The installation was extremely easy and it took less than 5 minutes to get the thing on. We're currently 3 weeks in (as of the time of this review), and we've had zero issues locking & unlocking it whenever it's time to cook. I was curious if it could stand the heat with both the stove-top & the oven in operation (I gave it the unofficial Sunday family dinner test) LOL. No issues there either. It hasn't fallen off or melted yet, which in my opinion, is a huge win for a $10 lock.I am quite pleased... but best of all, my toddler hasn't accidently baked himself. 👍🏽Grateful for this awesome little oven lock! **See my included video for more.

Stick it to your spot cause the tape don't come off!

Simple and quick to put on the oven. Helps ease of mind with my curious toddler who immediately tried opening the oven I put this on lol.

I was skeptical of the adhesive it first, but VBH tape it’s a very strong and this item feels incredibly sturdy. It is easy to use and it’s finish perfectly matches most black oven doors and cooktops.

My son's a pain and gets into eveything, especially since his dad taught him how to open cupboard and doors! So I had to buy all safety locks and come across this oven lock, safe to say he's never opened the over while it's been on, or off for that matter. When I move and need new I'll definitely be buying another. It's never fallen off either, not sure what glue they use for these but I need it for everything 🤣

I bought this item for my bedroom door because it opens when is windy outside, and living in a shared house is a bit uncomfortable. Well, I have to say that it exceeded all my expectations. It sticks very well and holds the door perfectly. I haven't try to push hard, but I only need a bit of support. So to me is 1000% recommended.

Save your money, I've given one star only because there's no option to give zero. I've had to return the item as my 18 month old can pull it off of the oven, or open the oven door with it still attatched. Luckily the oven was off and I was with him at the time otherwise it could have ended badly

The lock does do what it's supposed to do, it's easy to use but difficult enough for my daughter to open, my only criticism is that I don't think the sticky pad will last long, I cleaned the area with isopropyl alcohol before applying, but I have seen movement already, I will get some decent sticky pads soon to replace it. But overall I am happy with it

I put the lock on and left on overnight it did do the job in stopping the oven door being open however the product has melted when the cooker was on so I've had to take it off so pretty useless really.
