We use these glue traps on our boat to catch cockroaches, and they work great. After hauling our boat out for work, we ended up with roaches inside, and these traps have been the easiest solution. We place them in the bilges, and once an insect is caught, it’s not getting out. They’re very sticky, durable, and last a long time as long as you keep them out of the dust (dust will make them less effective). When they’re full or lose stickiness, we just throw them out and replace them - simple and effective.Glue traps won’t completely wipe out roaches since they lay eggs, so we also use borax and an ozone machine for extra control. Still, these traps are perfect for leaving out all the time to catch unwanted critters. Just be careful not to step in them or let pets get near them - they are very sticky. No poisons, just a safe, easy way to manage pests. Highly recommend, especially for boat use!

I bought a pack of these and am 2-for-2 so far against a couple of mice I've been trying to eliminate. A couple of comments to address some negative reviews: 1) I suspect these traps won't work well for larger rats, which would have more strength to struggle and break free (leaving behind some fur as seen in the review photos). 2) You do have to be careful separating the traps. If you squeeze the middle while pulling them apart, the glue will definitely stick to itself and damage the traps. One additional comment: the instructions caution against using peanut butter as an additional attractant, since the oils could soften the glue. I found that a little dollop right in the center of the trap works fine with no ill effects.

I have bought this product several times in the last 6 months due to a mouse issue at my house. This product works great and can easily catch multiple mice/rats with ease. Once they step on the trap, they are unable to get out of it. Even my dog, who was curious and accidentally stepped in it, was unable to get herself off without help. It is very sticky. This works for spiders and other insects as well. The only downside is that if it gets on your clothes or carpet, it is very hard to get it off. I had to throw away a shirt that fell on one of the traps since it was a hassle to try to remove all the adhesive. Highly RECOMMENDED product!

I'm battling a plague of mice. These mice attracted snakes. The snakes follow the mice into the house, and there they are, in my kitchen. Please don't tell me how good innocent little snakes are. I am terrified of them. Right now I am doing battle with a 4-foot King snake. He's hunting mice. I'm hunting him.Mice are smart little devils. If you let them, they will destroy your house. Down through the years I have employed humane snap traps, and cats. Cats are the best as long as they are strictly indoor adventurers. I am between cats right now, and must resort to my own devices. Mice will avoid snap traps fairly quickly. I have had some success with green pellet poisons, but it takes awhile. Ultrasonics are not working for the mice. I am desperate because of the snake, so I have decided glue traps will help me solve my problems. Not the happy choice, but it's me or them.I chose this glue trap because it says it can catch snakes too. They are a decent size. They are two to a pack. They come folded over with the glue facing inward. There is a small plastic hinge which has always broken, but that's okay with me. Once you open the box, you have to place two traps or set up a sandwhich board style along your baseboards. They are easy to pry apart. They have little projections to keep them reasonably apart.The glue is very strong. I accidentally rolled an empty, large vitamin bottle onto the first one, and it wasn't going to come off, period. I had to leave it attached. There is not much of a glue free edge to them, so handle carefully.The first night I caught a full grown mouse. It was an awful experience. He couldn't get free. He already lived his best life in my kitchen. But, the next night, nothing. The mouse telegraph went around, and all the traps were avoided. I saw with my own eyes a mouse crawl upside down, like Tarzan, under the lip of the drainboard, in order to avoid walking on the trap. That's how smart they are.So, I had to bait my traps with some of the little green poison pellets, which mice love. Third night I caught two small mice on one trap. The next day, the snake came out. He didn't seem to notice those two mice, but went over to inspect the first mouse trap. He got caught in the glue.I admit that I was pleased as heck, what an enormous weight off my back, having caught that snake. The snake thrashed and tried to flee. Because this trap was up on my center island, he fell onto the floor behind a box. Not to worry. I didn't even look. I figured I would deal with it when the snake was tired. Well, do I have to tell you? Not only did the snake get loose, but it showed up crawling towards me. What a nightmare.I opened a larger, different brand of glue trap, just to see if it would hold the snake, if I ever catch it again. That trap just seems bigger, without any particular extra strength to the glue. I plan to mix up the brands of glue traps and just keep them deployed.So, I think that this brand of glue trap is fine for mice. I plan to bait mine, even though it says you don't have to do that. It is not strong enough to hold a young, healthy King snake, and probably not a garden snake. Maybe little, tiny brand new snakes, but not full grown ones, and certainly not the kind you see pictured on the box. Still, I feel safer with my ring of traps, and that counts for something. I would buy again.

Tips:Place this against a wall where you last saw activity. Mice tend to travel along walls, not open floors. Be patient. Mine took about a week to catch with a few of these set up. The bait that worked best for me was popcorn. Caught the mouse causing me grief and tossed outside without having to kill it. Highly recommend.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I had a single rat living in our house for a couple of weeks. I tried absolutely everything to catch it, but it was very smart and very fast. After failing to physically catch it to take outside, i turned to kill options because it was doing so much damage. It had been trying to chew through doors and walls to move around and was very destructive. It had entered through the dryer vent and chewed through the duct to come in. It collected and shredded fabrics and collected dog food behind the dishwasher, etc. It avoided all the snap traps and poisons I put out. Eventually I was able to corner it into a small hole in the drywall. I placed all the glue traps at the entrance to the hole and finally it stepped on one. I should note that this is a particularly gruesome torture for the animal and I would only recommend use when you have a rat hole you know is used and are willing to check it frequently. The glue stuff is pretty awful and unless you are there to dispatch the animal yourself, it will slowly starve to death in agony as it breaks its own feet and rips out its hair trying to pull free. In summary, very effective method of last resort for this particular scenario but extremely cruel. I have reinforced all exclusion methods preventing entry into the home so hopefully I never have to use this again.
