GPS Navigation car

I was hesitant to buy this product because the reviews posted for it did not match the item for sale and the reviews seemed skewed. However, for the price I really like this GPS unit. The only reason I am giving it four stars instead of five is because it says there are free map upgrades for life and I went to the website and the only option is maps for traffic and speed cameras.I am a realtor and found that Google on my phone loaded slow and was not accurate so I would miss turns. Sometimes the screen froze. I needed something that would work all the time. I saw this item, saw the price, and decided to give it a shot. It was worth it.The screen is huge. 7". It is like an amazon fire tablet. The one other thing I don't like about this is that it wants to be a tablet as well. When you turn it on, it does not default to GPS but the GPS function is an app on the tablet. They should just get rid of this feature because other manufacturers do it better and cheaper. There is a setting when you read the instructions, to boot up to the GPS automatically. Once I did that, I was happy.The screen is very responsive. Impressively so. The screen is also bright and I had no issued seeing the screen. It comes with a screen shade attachment but I have not used that yet. Even though the screen is big, think Kindle, it seems to fit. It is easy to see the instructions on the screen and follow them.I tested this by keying in the address to a lake that I had never been to before. I also programed it in Google maps. Well, I did something wrong because I did not read the instructions, and it was trying to take me to the airport, which was the other direction. When I turned off to head to the lake, I pulled over and entered it again, and it brought me right to my destination. I then put in my home address to go home and it plotted the same route Google maps did.The GPS is amazing. I was within a yard of where the GPS unit said I should be. While Google lags, this one is spot on. The maps that are loaded on this seem up to date. I do not think it handles road closings, but I knew about all of those so I could avoid them. I doubt there is traffic updates as well.So the unit works as a decent and cheap GPS unit. It did what I wanted and got me to my destination.

the fact that it was made "unavailable" by the time I got it was unsettling. No assembly instructions and I didn't feel like experimenting with a bunch of plastic parts. The map update website is not rated by my computer security system. There is no online manual, and the print manuals are such tiny script that I have trouble reading them. [I know, "print is dead", but my new criteria for products is -- now -- online manual for review/confirmation before purchase.] The product was supposed to have an "eyebrow" solar shade, but did not. It wouldn't tell time even after I found the time zone setting. For that matter, if it "knows" where it is, why doesn't it know the time zone? Do I have to do everything here? Most time settings here in AZ focus on "do you want daylight savings time". In sum: I got nervous and returned it, already being overstocked on door stops.

First off, this is a very basic GPS. It'll get you from point A to point B as long as you input both starting and ending addresses of your destination. Also, the price is why I bought it. The rough part about this GPS is you are very likely to fiddle around the menu to see what its functions are since the instructions that come with it are...unhelpful. (Seems like Google translate was used to convert the instructions to English, quite messy). As for personal use, it lasted around 2 hours when in use fully charged and has a tendency to get a little delayed when there are merging lanes in over/underpasses. As long as your confident to where your going, the delay is not a big deal. (I live on the west coast USA, I'm on the freeway a lot.) Overall, its a good GPS for destinations that are 2-3 hours away. Other than that, invest in a better GPS. PS: It comes with other functions aside GPS navigation like music player and movie viewer...don't bother with those.

Did not work. Returned next day. It appears that there are allot of reviews posted on GPS units with high ratings that are for other products. It skews the quality of the product. I am assuming this unit is sold under different brand names and from different vendors. I cant see how anyone would five this unit 5 stars, unless I just got a lemon.

While this worked great on short trips, the fact that the unit will not work while charging, means on a longer trip it will not be accessible after 2-3 hours. Menu will not appear while connected to USB, all you can get is a charging screen. I though this would be a better option than my older one, but it looks like I'm back to the old one for this trip!

So far so good , I have taken it out a couple of time with no issues . Nice size screen , seems like a good deal for the price

Accuracy was not very good.The screen was difficulty to view in sunlight.
