Another great Valdemar collection! :)
As fond as I am of all of these, I still think my fave has got to be Mercedes' own story at the end...poor stupid bandits. ;)

So good!
Returning to Valdemar is always a joy. These stories are a wonderful addition the OG canon, mixing new characters with old, new situations with old. Some of the stories form mini-series with other stories by the same individual authors sprinkled throughout the anthology sereis. I always love reading more in the “Consequences” series with Lady Cera. Another favorite are the Temple of Thenoth series, each story title containing a collective noun for some type of animal. And the Dann family… I love these stories. Such fun, bite-sized reads!

Seasonal stories
This anthology was themed around the seasonal holidays of Valdemar, which I thought was a clever use of one of the books. The second to last book was apparently set in Holderkin lands but contradicted some of the canon. Many stories throughout this whole series do so, but that always irritates me. The final Mercedes Lackey story was a Vanyel and Vixen story, which will please Vanyel fans, but I thought it was too short. It was interesting and fun, though.

A great read.
Again I have spent enjoyable time in the world of Velgarth. The anthologies allow me to get a satisfying read when I am short of time and the Kindle app allows me to take it anywhere without weighing down my overstuffed purse.

Read too quickly😕
What can I say. I love Mercedes Lackey and Valdemar. Each story helps build this world stronger and clearer in my mind . Though it felt like I missed a book somewhere along the way. Three of the stories involved previous characters that were not in situations where I last read about them. Great stories but now I have to go back and re-read the other anthologies. What a hard ship! 😆

Another Great Collection Of Tales About The Heralds Of Valdemar
This anthology, like all the Valdemar anthologies is full of wonderful stories about Heralds, their Companions, and sometimes of young Heralds in training learning what it takes to become a real Herald. These tales, like all the tales of the Heralds and their Companions are a treasure to add to your collection of the Valdemar series and the wonderful work of Mercedes Lackey.

Kind of "meh"
Bland writing, not up to her usual quality, or even the quality of selected guest writers.

A selection of very cute stories
These relatively short stories were written by a number of different authors with only one contribution by Mercedes lackey. They were all "coming of age" stories. I enjoyed them all. Great literature, no. The best of Valdemar, no. But they provided two nights of enjoyable reading. If you would really like your sleep disturbed read "A midnight clear" by Ms Lackey -- she invents talking spiders big enough to kill people and then suck out their insides after the venom dissolves their flesh -- enjoy!

A nice assortment. Stays in world.
Its very much in keeping with what you have come to expect from Lackey's addictive Valdemar series. As always, the stories frustrate mostly because you hen want to read more of the character's adventures! A nice anthology.Companions and Heralds, oh my.

Clever and enjoyuable stories
Much anticipated collection of stories in the Valdemar Universe. Particularly enjoy stories which continued on with characters from the previous editions.
