True Nutrition 5LBS Unflavored Micellar Casein Protein Powder - Slow Digesting Overnight Protein - Low Carb and Gluten-Free

Two days ago I finished a 5 pound bag of the beef protein that I bought this summer. I always mixed two scoops of protein with 1.5 cups of water in the blender. It made a few bubbles, but no foam. The bag I received today is a completely different product. It seems to be cut with egg whites. When I mix it in the blender I basically end up with meringue. Mixing 1.5 cups of water with two scoops from this new bag gives me 4 cups of foam! The picture above shows the mixture after sitting 20 minutes. The foam is thick and firm. I swear, it's egg white protein mixed in with the beef. I used this product for months, so I know what to expect. I'm calling the company tomorrow.

But yes... I didn't realize there were flavoring options and first and I would force myself to down the unflavored protein - very unpleasant. Don't make my mistake! Get the flavoring!Also, pea protein is INCREDIBLY thick. You will find you may have to add a lot of water or add more water halfway through your drink. I like to put it in smoothies and I find the thickness actually makes the smoothie more enjoyable.VEGAN ANGLE: A+Its been hard to find a good protein supplement as a vegan. I've tried all sorts of other brands and this was recommended to me by fellow vegan bodybuilder. I find pea superior to other vegan protein options as its got a higher protein volume compared to the likes of soy, hemp, chia and other seed proteins.FINAL VERDICT: A (96%)If you're a vegan - this is YOUR NEW PROTEIN. Been on beef protein for years. Really good results building muscle and easy/fast digestion. Hydrobeef was a high quality Sweden-based manufacturer of grassfed beef with no cutting or extra ingredients. Recently, I had to switch supply and tried this True Nutrition out. Bought a 5lb bag but it is devastating to my guts. Something is off with this product- very foamy and utter havoc in the intestines. I will have to keep searching but I strongly warn people off of this. March 2022

Bought just the Beef Protein with no boosters. Definitely a bang for your buck. Protein powders are not cheap, but I was pleased by the amount you receive in return. I've tried many different powders over the years and this definitely tastes the best out of the beef powders I've tried. My doctor suggested that I only use beef protein as opposed to pea proteins or others because beef is the only one that isn't inflammatory for my issues. My favorite way to make a smoothie with this is using a blender -- I use a scoop of the regular beef protein, a banana, a cup of coconut water, a cup of almond milk, a scoop of collagen (I use Vital Proteins), and a couple of tsps of cocoa powder. It blends really well and frothy and just about tastes like a milkshake.

I rarely leave product reviews but I had to for this one. Avoid this product. It seems amazing on paper; it's exactly what I was looking for. However, there are several things wrong with this. First of all, it gives me a really bad upset stomach and diarrhea every time I have it. No other protein powder has ever done this. That alone makes this dangerous. Secondly, the protein powder is extremely frothy. A pure protein isolate would not do this, leading me to believe that it has fillers which are unlisted. And finally, the taste. I don't care at all what my protein tastes like, as long as the nutrition profile is what I am looking for. This stuff is on another level of horrid, however. It tastes like someone ate rancid meat, then vomited, and then you eat that vomit. Literally. It makes me gag every time. Overall, the product is dangerous and definitely tainted. AVOID!

Very good source of alternative protein, you should get your protein from a variety of sources. The price is comparable to other types of protein powder. It has enough sodium that a person who is watching their sodium intake needs to consider how much they consume.

Per the title, the pea protein isolate I ordered arrived unsealed at the bottom, leaking powder, whilst the bag itself was holding together (barely) by tape.Immediately returning.

I have ordered 5lb increments previously directly from True Nutrition and this was a far superior experience. I regret ordering from via amazon. Things you should know that they don’t mention:1.) The protein powder and two boosts (flavor) all ship separately. They expect you to mix it all in yourself, which is pretty ridiculous.2.) They will all arrive at different times—and we’ll outside the shipping guarantee.Great product but this experience makes me doubt the trustworthiness of the company.
