25 Ft Globe String Lights with G40 Bulbs,White - Connectable Outdoor String Lights for Garden Party Patio Bistro Market Cafe Hanging Umbrella Lamp Backyard Lights

I bought two strands for our porch and hung them up right away. They look great -- a warm yellow glow -- but I was disappointed to find one of the bulbs already dead, right out of the box. Would have been nice if it came with a spare or two.Definitely follow others' advice, and unscrew all of the bulbs before hanging the set. The bulbs seem very fragile, and it would have been tough not to break any if I had left them attached. The packaging makes it easy to unscrew the bulbs and just slide the wire out from the bottom, leaving the bulbs in their cardboard tray.

[UPDATE 1/1/2018: One of the bulbs broke, but all the other lights were still operable. Replaced the bulb, and it's working fine again.]I purchased the white-colored strand version. Here are the Pros and Cons:PROS- Instructions on the box are useful: remove the bulbs before hanging the strand. This minimizes damage to the bulbs- Removing the bulbs makes it easier for you to move around the strand to figure out how you want to hang it- Great, ambient, relaxing lighting- GREAT customer service: 3 bulbs arrived not working. Deneve's co-founder went above and beyond to resolve the issue- Pricing is just right- Portion of proceeds is donated to charity, according to the product descriptionCONS- Instructions are only on the box. They were not on the included document. One could easily miss the instructions printed on the box- Unlike LEDs, I do not think these bulbs can or should be left on overnight (like Christmas lights.) With that said, I do not think any LED bulbs would look as nice as these, especially if they are in plastic bulbs (rather than glass.)NOTES- STRAND ATTACHMENT: I attached the strand to my patio with the OOK 50684 7/8-Inch 30 Pieces White Vinyl hooks- MOVING OF THE BULB SOCKETS: the bulbs are spaced about 12 inches apart from one another, starting with the plug. However, the first bulb closest to the plug unfortunately is too close, making it sit right next to my waterproof outlet against the wall. I tried moving the bulb socket, but it is attached to the strand. Looking at the socket, I note that it could probably be popped open and moved. However, this would likely leave a weakness in the strand (I assume that teeth sank into the wire to make the electrical connection.) This led me to my next question: could some sockets be left safely hanging (especially in rain) without any bulbs attached to them? I do not know yet and am awaiting for a reply from DeneveI was extremely impressed and pleasantly surprised by Deneve's great customer service, and should service continue to be this great, I do not think I will ever buy globe string lights from any other manufacturer.If you found this review helpful, please hit the "Yes" button to encourage me to write more. (Robert's Daughter) I bought this product for my bedroom and love the ambiance it adds. I have a 10 by 12 foot room and one strand, when zig-zagged across my ceiling, takes up about a third of the room. The soft lighting makes for a nice change of pace from the fluorescent lighting in the rest of my apartment. I love the product! However, I have only had the lights for less than a month and 2 bulbs have already gone out, which is why I give this product 4 rather than 5 stars.

I hooked up one string of lights in my room with a dimmer ("Lutron TT-300H-WH Electronics Plug-In Lamp"). I took off all the bulbs when I was hanging up the string to prevent any bulbs from breaking. At the brightest setting, it's bright enough to light up the room but a little hard to read with only that light. With the dimmer, the lights give off a soft yellow glow. It sets a very nice mood. Exactly what I was looking for.One of my bulbs was broken in the package. I ordered the lights special for an event so I was really disappointed, and wished I had heeded the warning of other purchasers who said the bulbs breaks easily. I emailed the seller, they got back to me the next day and told me to expect replacement bulbs in 10 days. I was already very happy with the customer service as they did not make me jump through hoops to get a replacement. To my surprise the new shipment of replacement bulbs came the day after that (so 2 days after I emailed Deneve), and arrived before my event! I'm located in the same state as the company so I'm sure that helped with the fast arrival. Nethertheless I can't rave enough about their amazing customer service - the level of responsiveness and responsibility is insurmountable.Would highly recommend! Great product and amazing customer service!

I love the look of these lights, but their durability is why I rated them 3 stars. The first time I bought them (about 8 months ago), they had a short circuit and stopped working completely, and this was within the day I received the lights in the mail. I was able able to get a free replacement at the time, but a couple months later the replacement lights had the same exact issue, except this time I am no longer able to receive a free replacement. I should also mention that these lights were used indoors in my bedroom, so I wasn't really exposing them to the elements or anything else that would potentially cause damage. I want to purchase another set, but for the price and high possibility of them breaking again, I just don't think it is worth it.
