Started failing pixles within 20 hrs of use
I installed this DLP chip in a BenQ MW512 projector. After much research I learned that heat is the normal issue that causes DLP chips to fail. For that reason I thouroughly cleaned the cooling fan and projector internals, and used MX-4 thermal compound between the heat sink and DLP chip (frequently used for high heat chips like gaming computer processor chips), to make the best effort to take heat out of the equation. At about 15 hours of use (with room temperatures in the high 60's) I noticed the first pixle on the DLP chip fail. I now have less than 20 hrs on it and there is about 100 pixles failed. I was surprised that the cost for this chip was so high (>$100). I expect they may be a cheap make with a high markup.
