I bought this exact kit. I went with a different silencer, solely for aesthetics (art/hobby of mine). At one point I wanted to see what the other silencer (the one that came in the kit) looked like and put it on. It slid all the way on to the front of the "barrel housing", leaving a minimal size gap. Where the end (or the front) of the actual barrel, ended up, was the front of the silencer. So, no, you don't have to cut the barrel for anything. At least not in my experience.

Q: how do i order these parts in different colors? wanted the front barrel in white and the flash hider/suppressor in orange.

Sorry, customization of nerf barrel and front tube decor is not supported at present
