PIONEER 3D NAND External SSD(240 GB)-Portable Solid State Drive USB 3.1 Gen 1 (APS-XS03-240)

I bought two of these to set up as a RAID 0 on my 2015 Macbook Pro. I was surprised to see how small and light these drives are. A+ on portability.Transfer speeds are alright. I got about 137MB/s average read and write speeds. Then when I set them up as a RAID0, I averaged 256MB/s write and 297MB/s read speeds. Of course, your mileage may vary.One thing I didn't like much, is how short the included cables are. Depending on where you plug them, they will hang in the air because of how light the drives are. In my case, for example, I have them plugged into a USB Hub, and they just hang in the air above it. It's hilarious.I know it's too soon to tell, but so far they've been working quite nicely. I use them for editing video on Final Cut Pro X on my MacBook Pro, and I can definitely feel a considerable improvement in timeline scrubbing and render times.I am happy with this purchase.

I bought this portable SSD drive to back up my photos while I am out on a photo shoot. There is always a worry about losing your files. I have a professional camera that eats Up Storage quickly. So I use my Galaxy Note 10 to backup all of my raw camera files onto my phone. My phone has 256 gigs a storage but as any photographer knows that storage goes quickly. So I bought this portable SSD drive to backup all the files on my Galaxy Note 10. All you need is to format your Pioneer SSD on your computer and then you down USB media explorer app from the Google Play Store. And then all you have to do is copy all your photos from your gallery onto your SSD drive. It's really simple but you must make sure you format your SSD. You have to make sure you have an OTF adapter for your cell phone. I bought a USB C to USB A female end to plug in do USB cable that came with the Pioneer SSD drive into my Galaxy Note 10 and then I used file media Explorer app and it makes it easy to backup all your pictures. The SSD drive is fast I have worked with faster but for how cheap it is I have no complaints. I'm not expecting super fast reading and writing speeds but on my computer and my cell phone the pictures pop up almost instantly. Now downloading images onto the SSD drive it took about 40 seconds to download 78 pictures. But you also have to remember I shoot raw camera files and those images are 90 megabytes per file. This works, it really works! If the average shopper is anything like me, then you have probably seen plenty of failed drives so you are now skeptical at best when you run across one that seems cheap for the storage offered. But I can confirm that at least the one I received from ordering this worked perfectly and remains in usage without any problems after months of intensive use.I have tried a lot of storage alternatives and have experienced a lot of bad drives that claim to give more storage than they really hold which would often result in the files becoming corrupted. But this works. I know I keep repeating myself when I say that. But it has been months and the drive has seen a ton of use both as storage and even as a pseudo main drive to run online games off and I have no complaints at all.Amazingly cheap for what it offers which is why I was initially skeptical. But after months of usage I am content to give this a 5 star review.

This thing is smaller than a deck of cards, great size (1TB), and fast. Nothing at all wrong with the functionality but it does require a custom USB cable. So if this one breaks or I lose it, I gotta go back to Pioneer for a replacement. So I'll try not to lose or damage it!

This product does exactly what I need it for -- backs up the documents from my hard drive in case of failure (I don't trust the cloud). It has much faster transfer speeds than the thumb drives I was using before -- it's turned what was an ordeal into a routine chore. At first I thought the short cable would be a problem, because it has to hang from the USB port (can't be rested on a surface), but it's so light that it hangs from the port with no problem. The ONLY thing I don't like is that I get an error message every time I plug it in -- Windows, I guess, telling me there's a problem with the drive. It doesn't say what the problem is, and the drive works perfectly. I don't know what Windows' objection is. It works fine for me.

This 480gb external ssd is now the permanent shortage device on a 2017 Nvidia shield. It's replacing a 250gb flash drive that died one night, taking a lot out with it. So far it's perfect. Quite small, less of a heat concern being less compact than a flash drive and also not directly hanging off the back of the shield. File transfers are quick as the average person will expect from an ssd. If you're used to using standard hard drives, it's like greased lighting. But if you've been using more modern ssd technology, you may be less impressed. I got this for the solid state tech and storage capacity at its price point. Portability was of no concern to me, as this has a permanent location for my use. However, its a bit smaller than a credit card. I'm pretty sure it would fit in any pocket on any article of clothing I've ever owned.

I use this drive to hold game files for games I don't play as often. You can get transfer speeds of 200+ MB/s but after transfers of several GB it tends to slow down to around 25-50 MB/s. The cable is not proprietary like some reviews say, it's a regular old USB-B. It seems to handle big files better than many small ones, which is expected. I ran a 10 GB transfer and felt no noticeable heat from the drive afterwards. Extremely small and lightweight, can easily live in the pocket of your backpack or laptop bag without being noticed.

I plugged in the usb and was able to use regular scotch tape to mount the SSD to the back of the XBOX out of sight and without obstructing anything.Certain shooting games were taking up an extraordinary amount of space on the XBOX so I picked this up to improve my storage situation. Absolutely can not beat this thing for value.

So far, no issues at all. It's super easy to get going on the laptop, files transfer SO fast, which is truly the best part for impatient people like me who have dealt with old school USBs and....floppy discs. The drive is super thin and light. I only have basic needs for this, some documents, pictures and videos to back up, nothing crazy. So I can't imagine needing more than this. Very happy!

Ho scoperto per caso questo ssd portatile e, conoscendo la marca per altri tipi di prodotti, ho voluto provarlo. Davvero ottimo! Fatto al volo test con Crystal disk ed ha registrato 450mb in lettura e quasi 400mb in scrittura! Piccolissimo (dimensioni di una carta di credito), leggerissimo ed ha anche una bella estetica! L'ho collegato alla presa usb della TV e lo riconosce senza problemi. Ottimo prezzo. Lo consiglio vivamente. Spedizione amazon sempre velocissima

Hasta ahora mi contacto con los discos duros SSD se había limitado a los modelos internos para ordenadores y pensaba que este seria igual pero con una carcasa, pero no, es mucho mas pequeño, liviano y con un grosor escaso, por lo que se puede llevar fácilmente en el bolsillo.El diseño es muy atractivo y el precio, de lo más competitivo que encontré.El único pero, es que el cable suministrado es muy corto. Yo lo tengo conectado a la tele para grabar programas que no puedo ver en directo y tuve que recurrir a un alargador para que no quedase colgando en el lateral. Por cierto, las grabaciones, muy buena calidad de imagen, fluidas y da para almacenar un montón de programas.
