Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeap, but manageable.
I got this in the mail a few days ago and have had some time to play with it. Although the product photo shows the tripod holding a DLSR with what looks to be a 200mm lens, if you expect that sort of resilience, you're in the wrong place.Out of the box, this tripod probably wouldn't hold an iPhone steady, much less a real camera body. I popped the top ball off (which revealed a hollow space beneath) and poured a good teaspoon worth of superglue into the opening. The plastic melted a little bit from the reaction and fused to form what is probably the strongest part of the tripod. I have a Nikon D300 with a (plastic) 35mm lens on that... well, still doesn't really *stand up*, necessarily, but the Flexpod gives it something to stand on, a bit, so that I can put it on the ground or a table or whatever and at least have some leveling control. Hanging from a branch, the design works well, too.I picked this up just to have some kind of platform for my camera on an upcoming backpacking trip for things like timed exposures, and I think that, for those minimal purposes, it will work. For what the product actually IS and is DESIGNED to be, it's fine. (And, remember, it costs about as much as a soy latte; manage your expectations and you'll be satisfied.)

it works.
i got this tripod to use with a little flip type camcorder. i'm going to be filming journal posts as a hike and camp so i had a fairly specific use in mind. this is perfect to wrap about tree branches and sit on uneven ground. it's super light, which is awesome for my already overloaded backpack. it's just cheap plastic but it doesn't need to do much. and since i'm holding just a little pocket camcorder it doesn't need to support hardly any weight. i could see this tripod breaking but only if you turn it the wrong way or fall on it or something that is an accident. the only piece that worries me is where it screws on the camcorder. i'm going to be screwing and unscrewing my camcorder a few times a day for a good six months so i don't know if it will take that sort of use. it's a metal bolt but cheap plastic around that. since it hasn't broke on me (i havent got a chance to use it much) i can only say this is a worry of mine and not something you may have an issue with.the tripod doesn't cost much and it does it's job. worth the buy.

Nice and convenient
Perfect for traveling. This is for light use only! I do not think that it will hold up a DSLR!! I have a small point and shoot and it works awesome for it. Whenever I need a steady shot or when I need to do a timed photo this is what I whip out! I do not use it to wrap around objects simply because I don't want the chance of my camera falling. I love that it is flexible and extremely light for packing purposes.Tip: when packing I suggest putting it in a ziploc because it has a detachable piece that holds the tripod screw and it is very easy to lose. If you lose that screw it is basically useless. It fell into my suitcase one trip and I didn't find it until I was back in the US so I didn't use it all.

Handy little inexpensive solution
I had a tricky problem and this little handy tripod fixed it. I needed to mount our video baby monitor high up above the crib, and the only place I could mount it was on the curtain rod. After several different mounting attempts, I decided that a flexible tripod device would be the easiest method because it would allow me to wrap around the curtain rod and also positioning the monitor at an angle facing down. I was concerned that this tripod would be cheaply made because of the price, but for what I needed it did the trick. I can't say how it holds up a heavier camera, but for a baby monitor or even a point and shoot, it should do just fine. The legs wrap easily and position in 1000 different directions.

There is no way I could see this supporting the weight of a digital SLR with a huge lens like in the product pictures
I've been using this for almost 2 months now and it does what I need it to do (hold a point and shoot digital camera). The top joint started loosening up after the first week, so I have to be careful not to adjust it too far, or the camera's weight will pull it down. The screw that attaches the camera to the tripod doesn't tighten fully, so my camera will spin if bumped. There is no way I could see this supporting the weight of a digital SLR with a huge lens like in the product pictures. All that aside, I'm satisfied with the use I've gotten so far for the price.

Flexpod Flexible Tripod - Not Very Useful if You Have a slightly Heavier Camera
Got this tripod for a travel workation that I had coming up. First, although I paid for a 2-day delivery, it arrived after 8 days so I couldn't take it on my trip. (The vendor, on complaining however, refunded the difference between the regular shipping and the standard shipping rates.)The tripod itself is very lightweight and so suitable for pocket digital cameras weighing maybe less than 200gm or about half a pound. Since the product description did not mention this limit I ordered it for my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28, a slightly heavier camera. The tripod had difficulty maintaining position - specially if the legs were wound around a pole or a banister. The head would just droop in a couple of seconds rendering it completely worthless for my use. I just wish the vendor would have clarified this in their product description so that I hadn't wasted my time and money purchasing this product.

Don't use for anything where a slipping camera could be lost
I may be biased a bit because of my specific experience, but it was a pretty bas situation. This product seemed decent as a small tripod, very flexible and you can basically mount it anywhere. The bad part for me came at the Grand Canyon when I had my GoPro mounted on a rail for time-lapse shots. The mount itself seems like it would hold a small camera around an object such as a rail, but after my experience I quickly filed for a return as the product did not work as expected. Someone brushed up again the mount/camera and the whole thing fell off the rail, luckily it fell INSIDE the railing rather than outside and into a MILE DEEP HOLE!I bought another small camera mount that is MUCH stiffer and would not slip off something it's wrapped around. The new flexible tripod I bought is metal and stiff wrather than plastic/rubber and very flexible
