This light has a proprietary 14.8V battery that isn't included.Yes, it will run on a NP-F battery, but at half brightness. This is actually a good thing, because I seldom need 100% brightness, and I have lots of NP-F already.The light is bicolor, from 3-6K adjustable...This means maximum brightness is at 4500K. The thing is, sunlight is 6800, so if you're shooting against the Sun, you have less wattage available at correct color.I really like the adjustable Fresnel lens, and the changes it makes to the edge of the fall off.The barn door edges are round, I've had to tape flags to them in some cases to get a linear cutoff.The barn doors can easily be removed.Overall, some minor issues, but I'm still giving 5 stars because its become one of my goto run and gun lights.

Thought it was pretty great first couple times I used it. Then today the screw in the bottom of the ball joint fell out causing the whole light to tumble with a battery attached. The fall then broke one of the brass "pins" meaning that it self-destructed and now I have a very expensive paperweight.*EDIT*The company reached out and fixed the situation. It is a shame I had a bad first time but with a new light I will be more careful and slow in use to make sure I keep it for a long time.

I have had the first version for about two years and it held strong. Not a single problem. The complaint I had was no setup memory. Whenever you turned off the light it will reset itself. I am happy they fixed it now in the 2nd version. They also added a fan to this light due to more output but I find the fan a bit noisy.Overall, it is a good light. I am using it primarily to light the background.

This is an amazing video light and an even better value. I have several Godoy plug-in video lights and two Aputure 300s, but I use these most often for talking-head shoots.Plenty of consistent light for all indoor interviews and lots of flexibility with the Bowens mount.The best upside (incredibly small size and weight) is also a downside. With even a small softbox, it is hard to balance the light on a stand.If you need a battery powered video light, this is a no-brainer.Lastly, great customer service. I had a problem with a possible AC power surge and they sent me out a brand new unit.

I was not expecting much based on the price and other reviews, but we rolled this out on a professional interview shot day 1 and found it outperformed our more expensive stuff. If you have good eyes, the dials make adjustment fast.

I use this for video. They are good as backlighting for groups and/or a main light for one person interview. Changing colors and color temperature is easy.

Very standard set of features that is comparable with most units on the market. Very usable. The size of the unit is compact with above average brightness retaining its compactness even with a battery pack mounted. Very easy to use with two knobs that also function as buttons to change modes and adjust features.
