It doesn't stay open on its own, as others have stated, and the dangling ball toy is a bit too long to be effective as a toy. I bought it for my ferrets, who are burrowing animals - they love finding their way inside it, so it being open doesn't matter much to us. I feel like it's a great deal!

This is a very cute cat bed, but the mouth doesn't stay open so my cats won't go in it. :(Update: I've had the bed for a week now and I saw a cat go in there! Yay! It is a really cute cat bed and I've finally seen a kitty go in for a nap. The mouth of the bed I have doesn't look as open as the one in the picture, but if you play around with it to try and mold the top part, it can open a bit more. This would be good for any cat that likes to be in a more cave like bed.

3 star rating ; as you can tell in my picture, the actual bed itself is quite crooked. To tell the truth when I first set eyes on this bed I wanted to return it because of how disproportionate it was. However I tried my best to straighten it out, lured in my kitten with a tiny bit of catnip and nonetheless he fell in love with this cute little bed. I than removed the tag. It melts my heart to walk in and see him laying in there. He absolutely adores this

It would be nice if it was bigger. Tiye uses it when she wants to, but she seems to prefer her non-caved beds as they are bigger.

This is very cute but definitely intended for a small cat. I actually ended up giving it away as my cat could only fit half of her body in it.

Both of my cats live this cozy cave and I think they look cute in it! This 8s actually the second one I purchased to prevent skirmishes over nap control! I got one for my mom's cat, but her cat just slept on top of it and chewed the ears. Something to keep in mind.

I love the way this looks and appears to be good quality. Had to return it though because like many of these it was too small for my normal sized cat.
